Bonner was annoyed what about the 1100 that watched another rubbish show I was and I would imagine my posts on Saturday reflected that!

Yeah definitely. I think as well because the local media ones are first you get the more immediate reaction too – he's already talked through his thoughts once by the time the club one takes place. The club's post-match interview is always before the press one. That's quite interesting Matt thanks. The club interviewer doesn't really ask many difficult questions so find the BBC Cambs one more enlightening. As EL G said I thought it would be have been the other way round. Its the same with the Bonnference. Its only when the written press get to ask things at the end that you sometimes get more answers.

My gut feeling is we recruited to a blueprint of wanting to evolve our style to be (slightly) more possession-based and less reliant on being direct, but a change like that takes time & probably more than 1 window to get right, especially when you're involved at the end of the transfer market that we are. I suspect we recruited Cousins & Kaikai to be 2 of the first names on the teamsheet this season & for various reasons that's not worked out that way so far. When the rubber's met the road, we've left ourselves sort of inbetween 2 styles and 2 quite distinct ways of playing, & we're not quite effective enough at either at the moment. And that's fine, so long as we tick over & keep our noses ahead of the chasing pack (hence Bonner's emphasis on "point-scoring days") to allow ourselves the time and space in the table to get it properly worked out, but we're beginning to fishtail round the corners... There's been some really excellent analysis by lots of posters on this thread about what's going wrong. El G's post here rings so many bells for me in terms of what I'm seeing in front of my own eyes and might explain other posters' comments about a lack of identity, style etc. And curiously it's cheered me up too because a belief that we're evolving and are definitely not there yet but there might be an emerging plan that we're attempting to play to, is strangely comforting. Doesn't excuse the recent 2 performances of course (and indeed others) but I've a happy vision that, at some point this season, we will all be able to see a genuine Cambridge United identity again.
