A proper striker and a right back as someone else says, though if we can improve on the quality of what we have with Harris contacts I’m all for it. Suspect Simper will go, hope Janneh gets a move elsewhere & Gordon can leave us too far as I’m concerned. Agree regarding Janneh. I’m probably in the minority but I think Gordon has something about him. Was really impressed with his first few showings, but he’s been largely anonymous in recent ones. But do think he’s one that could prosper under Harris. I agree, some good glimpses but he has been played out of position and not got a run of games. The odd start but normally comes on around 70 mins with the game often gone by then

What position would you play him in?

What position would you play him in? Up top, IIRC that is 'his' position

I think he's played as a wing-forward a lot prior to being here but was up top in the 1 proper season he had at Torquay. He's not an out-and-out winger for sure, but he's done some damage & looked very at home at times on the left. Wouldn't play him as a lone striker in our formation but agree that he'd probably suit being up front if we moved to a front 2.

Whilst Ben Strang is the guy who signs off on signings and the type of squad we have, giving it to the Head Coach to coach, (or at least that is how I believe the HC model to work), it does strike me as if we may very well see really different types of signings under Harris to those we saw under Bonz, and so this coming window is intriguing to say the least. I think there was a great deal of thought in the timing of Bonz's departure - get everything in place with a new HC given time to take control and form opinions well before the window opens, so I expect a far bit of movement in January.
To reiterate the striker call is obvious - we are painfully light in that position, moreso now with Fe injured for a while, so I do believe two incomings would be sensible to 'upsquad' appropriately. I think Gas will stay for the season and I really do believe he'll benefit from working with Neil. He looked a different player on Saturday from the one we've seen for a lot of the season so far, and he worked his socks off for us. I heard a rumour doing the rounds at Charlton that Ipswich don't want Gas back and that he loves playing for us, so perhaps a permanent deal may be on the cards there too.
Shipping out Simps, Janneh, Haunstrup probably absolutely sensible. I can't see any of them ever making the grade with us sadly. We have better options in the squad already and I believe we need better cover for them too, alongside an RB to really push Liam to be the best version of himself on a consistent basis.I also think Ryan has a big role still to play for us. I really think he needed the break from the team when it came, but he's a class act and has an enormous amount to offer us, both as a starter and as a sub too. He'd go nowhere if it were down to me. If a CB is to leave, then surely Zeno would be better served getting proper game time elsewhere for a bit? I think he's a good footballer but needs to build first team experience, ideally in L2, to give him a shot of really breaking through next season.

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned a lack of creative spark in our central midfield?
Lankester and May have both just topped 100 appearances for United and Jack has around 15 goal involvements, Adam around 10. Not good enough IMO, we need more from them.
I keep hearing how Lankester is this amazing talent, from people who know more about the game than me, but even with my layman's knowledge I can see we're not getting enough from him. Is that down to coach, player, formation, or something else? No idea, but 15 goal involvements isn't enough from 100 games.
I know Wes was Wes and this happened in League 2, but he had 17 goal involvements in his first 34 games... that's the level of a successful player in that position.

A lot of us have been asking for that for the last two years but sadly we haven’t recruited anyone who can get on the ball and play between the lines to be more creative.
Lots of fans bang on about strikers not scoring but in reality we haven’t been creating enough. Along with that our whole midfield are seriously lacking in goals and assists which is a big problem if a striker is out of form or gets injured. That’s something Harris will need to address on the training ground rather than recruitment though because I feel we have the quality in the squad to do that.

The whole squad need to contribute more goals as well. Shows how important those goals from Dunk were last season. In Bonners first 2 seasons more did chip in with the likes of Iredale, O’Neil & May but that’s stopped in the last 2 years. It’s one thing you can rightly criticise Brophy for and Harris said in his radio interview that he believes he can be more confident and shoot more. Hopefully as you say it’s something that can be worked on in training. Likes of Kai Kai need to step up as well

True about Left Back cover. Someone who can play both left and right would be a bargain. All the 19-20 year olds we can afford on short contracts, because we need the depth.

Your name is off my Christmas card list, and I hope Santa brings you a big lump of coal.
Even if the hard truth is that he's likely to depart in the summer, I'd have thought. Heart and head both say there's yet another comeback to the side for him yet, given his latest career ending injury, but still.

Dunk who, the last time he had a run in the team, was one of the starring players who kept us up? You should sit facing the corner and think about what you've done.
