My internet provider is Plusnet (owned by BT ) They have emailed me this morning with a list of perks for being a customer with them One of them being Broadband only .Reading into it, if I go with it there will be no line rental but I will no longer be able to use my landline phone, not even for 999. It goes on to say that as people are using landline less and less Openreach will eventually cut access to all landline use. How is this going to effect offices ?

Landlines are being phased out anyway in 2025 & the only option for people who want to retain a home phone will be a phone linked to the internet. This can be a new digital phone (wireless) or an older analogue handset (possibly with an adapter) plugged into your router
Many Businesses have already started the transition in time for the switchover. A bit like the analogue TV switchover to digital back in the day

I don't think it will. Offices I've worked in make calls over the internet and/or provide their staff with mobiles.
Landlines have been obsolete in most modern offices for a while now I think.

Favourite CUFC player: Spriggs. Dublin. Pitt. Lennett.
Favourite CUFC match: vs Leicester C (H) 1982. Without that...?

At home our landline has sat unused for several years now, and before that only my late Nan ever called us on it. At work it's all done via a desktop/mobile app.
