Here is a question that I can't find the answer to. Do season ticket holders get a refund if they can no longer make the rearrange match? As I was there on Tuesday but away for halfterm. If I'd purchased a ticket I'd get a refund. Same for me sadly. I'd imagine the club view would be that it is 'buyer beware' given that a lot of folks (myself included) commit to the season even before fixture dates are released. There are inevitably some games we have to miss if we book hols etc, or other commitments come up. I have to say though, particularly as one of those of us who have been STH's for a long time (42 years unbroken run for me), I am still waiting for the free tickets for a friend offer we were given during the curtailment season and also for any tangible sign of thanks for buying virtually completely unused STH's in good faith for the lockdown season, the minor percentage reduction the season after was similar in style to the Government's so called 30 hours of free childcare... not what it was dressed up to be! That said, I'd never not have a season ticket.

I waited for months to hear when the free tickets for friends would be available. Near the end of the season I raised it with the club who said it had been operating from earlier in the season. So I applied and there were only two games that were allowable as the others were ‘likely to popular’, so didn’t work for me. On the release issue, if my wife and I had released our tickets for the Bolton game (we did release on two earlier games), what happens now? Do we get our seats back for the rearranged game as the people who bought them is entitled to go to the rearranged game (or get a refund)?

No, you don't get your usual seat back but the club offer you a free ticket elsewhere. I am sitting in Block B next Tuesday evening for the first time ever. You should have had an email about this: I mention in the Bolton match thread.

Personally don't mind if I have to miss a few games, normally give my ST to a mate if I can't go or release it and as long as I'm going to enough games that it wouldn't have been cheaper to buy each ticket individually I'm happy enough. But I do think having some sort of limited game season ticket would be a good idea. I think some clubs have a scheme whereby you pay for 10 matches at a lower rate and get to choose which games you go to, which is good for fans who can't make every game, or similarly maybe a Saturday only ST which could be good for people who struggle making evening kick-offs due to location or for families who don't want to go to games on a school night. Also agree it would be nice for a few more perks of having a season ticket but not super bothered. I do think the club will probably be looking at things like that as the club grows.

Good point about the 'Release your Seat' scheme. At most clubs a smaller percentage of the face value of the ticket is retained by the club in recognition of the provision of the platform etc to re-sell the ticket on and the majority of the money is credited to the STH. Essentially what CUFC is doing is attemtping to sell the same seat twice and getting the money for it, twice. I'm afraid this one isn't for me, I think it is more than a little churlish if I'm honest. Bit surprised by your takes on this one ladz. I've released my seat a couple of times already this season and have absolutely no issue with the club taking all of the money for the resale. C'mon, our directors have covered a £1.7m loss last season! I'm sure we (comfortably off*) folk can't begrudge a bit of help back to the club? *By definition if you're Block C royalty. I can afford not to be recompensated yes Dylan but I'm not as well off as Paul, Adam & Mark I am afraid! I think like with a few things, we have grown very quickly as a supporter base these past couple of years and things like the ticketing system need updating. One of our friends told the club they could release his seat for a game in August whilst he was away. They then promptly forget to change it on the system and so re-sold it for 3 more games! He then had to sit elsewhere not the people who they had re-sold it to. He was told this was because they couldn't contact the re-purchaser, even though bought on line. You will also notice yourself the amount of empty spaces each week in Block C despite advertised sell outs. Just think the system needs to be upgraded.

Dylan, it really isn’t about the money. What I am desperately keen to see is that the ethos which binds us together as a club and fan base isn’t lost as we develop and grow, and that is a really tough thing to acheive. We’ve seen a lot of change recently, almost all of it wonderful, and I find myself more invested in the club than ever. I also don’t want gold medals for loyalty as I think is the case for all of us, but I really don’t want to see United end up as just another club. We’ve always been brilliant at recognising the efforts the fans make but it needs to be a reciprocal process over the next few years for Cambridge United to still be the Cambridge United we all love. A very small example - last season after HM the Q expired the Ipswich away game was postponed along with the whole football programme. Nothing anyone could do of course. I was away on a work trip for the new date and so tried to return my three seats, to be told I was 24 hours too late and nothing could be done. Surely there were others who would have wanted them? And now this season, release your seat for free so we can re-sell it! Hmm 😂

I forgot all about the lockdown season. Think I only went to one game and that was the Colchester match. We did get free ifollow though (when it worked).
I'm not overly fussed by the money but this just irked me a bit.

D block royalty show more foresight (than C block) as the pitch is moving south for the huge new NRE.

There was absolutely no communication about the friends free tickets offer as part of the Covid season and how to redeem them. Also, with regards to ST benefits we used to get a 10% discount in the club shop but that went years ago.
The club view seems to be that we get a ticket discount so that’s enough and loyalty, especially when we bought tickets to see no football, counts for nothing.

We get free mental health therapy as a benefit if we want to use it.
For me that's pretty remarkable.
