This is unsettling. Hopefully the club can get a decent chunk of compensation from Millwall over this should it happen. I doubt it would be that much, as he is only on an 18 month contract

Would this make Harris the first manager to walk out on United since Tommy Taylor went to Orient mid 90s? Tommy Taylor's replacement didn't do too badly....

I wasn't a fan when he was appointed. I've warmed to him in the 5 mins he's been here, but won't shed any tears. I understand his reasons if he goes, Millwall is his club.
We need to see it as an opportunity.

I know people want to open an inquest (the less spotted inquest before it's happened) that turns over every stone on our side, but I'd be surprised if there was anything more than "it's Millwall". If you're a, if not THE, club legend you can't really say no. Especially when a few months ago you were getting sacked in League Two. This.

Lets get Bonner back for the P*sh game! We will be getting Barry Corr back for the Posh game and the Stevenage game. If no better applicant appears, and Bonner swallows his pride, would you turn him down? He has always done his best for the club. That has proven good enough to keep us up before, but it was a near thing. He doesn't get 1.5 points a game at this level. There is a strong argument for Gary Rowett, since he has history with the club. Perhaps a little more loyalty. Bonner was sacked for many reasons. I don’t see the logic in sacking him and then reappointing him literally months later. Has he suddenly improved? It’s not about him swallowing pride. It’s about us appointing someone better equipped to do the job. Bonner shouldn’t even be considered.

I doubt it would be that much, as he is only on an 18 month contract A year's salary for a manager is a wedge. They're paid less than the top bracket of players generally and we're a L1 club with a small budget. Even the full term of his contract will be almost nothing to Millwall. The negotiations will be because we want more than just his salary paid up. It's a transfer fee effectively, not a covering of the costs of the contract.

This being football and me being a United fan I'm going to hate on him like it's Christmas if he goes as it feels like the enjoyable thing to do. I do agree though, I was underwhelmed by the appointment at the time, and although he's done a broadly ok job and seems likeable enough I'm certainly not attached to him.
Great opportunity for him if it's all true and happening.

This is mental. That's it, that's the post. The most mental part is that people are seriously (I think) suggesting we reappoint Bonner. Can imagine Fergie and the inbreds praying but also pissing themselves laughing at the thought of this happening.

I had a feeling this would happen. After all, I'm God's representative on earth. But I expected it to happen in May.
It's an important lesson for me in humility.
