Crap half. If Bolton could shoot we would be burried. Need to stop falling over looking for cheap fouls, the ref is not falling for it, Kachunga and Brophy the main culprits.
Can't see this ending 1-0.

We’ve played 1st once, joint 2nd twice and 6th once. 3 away from home. These are not the games that will define our season, 4 defeats on the bounce obviously hurts but it’s the next run that will count for far more.
New manager and Taylor back for the next game hopefully, happy clapper mode activated.

Get Mike in to the end of the season, that's got me more optimistic (or at least less pessimistic) than the 1st half made me!

At least we are trying to play out from the back a bit.
How did they hit the bar from there. That was a dreadful miss

Bolton first to most every second ball with us not doing enough to compete is frustrating. I guess we're trying not the expose the gaps behind our deep defence but nonetheless I'm frustrated by it and as a tactic I don't think it's working as Bolton are opening us up regardless...lots of last ditch blocks and tackles from us though so fair play to the back nine for that.
Brophy needs to make his dives slightly less obvious.
I think there are gaps in the Bolton defence though. As haphazardly disjointed as we've looked at times we've still had a couple of half chances to create an opening and with a bit more composure/bravery/quality/tempo I could see us snatching something.

Really a terrible half. We are seriously short of any sort of self belief. Look like we are waiting to lose.

Favourite CUFC player: Spriggs. Dublin. Pitt. Lennett.
Favourite CUFC match: vs Leicester C (H) 1982. Without that...?

If I was a manager thinking about the job I'd be encouraged by this - there's only one way it can go after all...

Or as the manager, do you compare teams and set the team up to try to counter the opposition (who are bloody good by the way) and try to play to our strengths? The alternative is to go gung-ho and get thrashed.

Taking comfort from the fact it’s only 1-0. Trouble we’ve got is the players coming in are performing just as badly (bar Lennett) as those who have dropped out. Not closing down on the edge of the area is criminal, as is not making yourself as big as you can when the player gets his shot away.
Have had a few promising breakaways but then mess it up with poor passes when under no pressure. We look very fragile right now. Any confidence we had has been completely knocked out of us by that Cnut Harris going. All I’m hoping for is to not get hammered, that sums up where we are at the moment.

I do think that having Rennett, Morrison and Andrew in the same back line hinders us too much. We sit too deep due to their lack of pace. Okedina in for Rennett is the only obvious change to that - hopefully Dunk too once back. Andrew's been fine in isolation, but the oil tanker backline as a whole is the issue.

Still 4 clear of relegation and most top teams we’ve played twice…? Yes I’m clutching.

We are setting up to try and keep the score down which against good teams won’t work.
