I don't buy the 'we've been rubbish all season' line.
We had a good August and Harris made us solid if uninspiring midtable team.
We have good players and our defence on the whole has been pretty reliable for most of the season.
So to concede 10 goals in 2 games is very alarming. Defence is the one area of the pitch we could rely on to be reasonable.
Change now is a bit Russian roulette, but I'd rather take the gamble than let this absolute cretin take us down.

Were the ‘Monk Out’ brigade really expecting a new manager to turn that around in 3 games? I think people were expecting us to be organised, motivated and competitive. I get that but calling him out after three games is nuts.

I’d be very surprised to see the club get rid of Monk so soon, it’s not very ‘us’ to act so dramatically so quickly. The temptation to see the two weeks without a game as an opportunity for Monk to ‘reset’, have some serious time on the training ground to force home his ideas, without an immediate need to be working on specific game plans will be too great.
Personally I’d not be upset if we binned him off, or if he walked, but I can’t imagine it making any significant difference at this point. The pool of willing/available managers will be even smaller than last time, or the time before that and we probably end up with Corr at the helm until the end of the season. If Monk was really the most impressive candidate last time around, a Micheal Duff type isn’t suddenly going to be chomping at the bit to take over three weeks later with the team in an even worse position.

I think I might end up agreeing with you once I’ve calmed down a bit. For now though, I’m shocked and angry with what I’ve seen in the last three games, and unconvinced by Monk’s general demeanour since his appointment. I really hope I’m made to look really stupid over the remainder of the season.

Anyone who thinks we are going to get rid of Monk after just three games, no matter how poor those matches have been are are deluded. And I’m including the draw at home as a poor result in that because it was a match where we offered very little in the second half, despite what Monk seemed to think after the match.
But the only people more deluded are those who think Monk is going to walk out, sometime this season or early next season. The man’s been out of football management for a while and this is his chance to get back. He walks now and hes basically saying he can’t motivate this team and his chance of getting back into football management at any decent level is gone.
Monks here for at least this season and the start of next. At least his post match interview today was a bit better than the one against Lincoln when he seemed clueless.

If we keep shipping 4-6 goals per game then how can he possibly be here until at least the start of next season? Personally, I think he'll be sacked if we're relegated without him winning a game, and right now I think we'll be relegated without him winning a game.

We would surely have at least tried to insert a relegation clause?

I think someone and perhaps it was Mr Barry got star struck because Monk coached in the PL about 6 years ago. Having been out the game for 4 years he was not the right appointment for where we were trying to stay up. I get maybe as a summer appointment somewhere where he could bring his own players in and work on a system but he’s the wrong man at the wrong time for us. Harris has done the dirty on us but he was a motivator. A positive person and also knowledgeable of the lower leagues. In hindsight maybe giving Barry Corr an experienced no 2 until the end of the season May have been the answer.

Have the 'bring Bonner back' posters considered he might not want to? I believe he was shocked and deeply unhappy at being sacked.

Today was awful, Andrew is the worst left back I’ve ever seen in a United shirt, he was responsible for the first two goals.
This team looks resigned to going down, we had a 10 minute spell at 2-0 in the second half and that was that.
Monk has brought nothing in his first three games, he looks bewildered and short of any ideas to dog us out of this mess.
I’d be happy to see him go, I’d hand on heart rather bring in John Beck - at least there would be some bloody fight.
What ever happens at the end of the season there are very few of this starting 11 that can remain at the club.
I am also bewildered at the lack of playing time our clearly talented youth players have been given by all 3 managers this season and our signing look utterly flawed.
Sadly I think we are down

His demeanour already gives of a vibe of a 'by mutual agreement' announcement coming soon. What is going on behind the scenes? It feels more like an end of days situation now than it did when Bonner was on the ropes...
