Haven’t posted on here for a long time, but have to agree with others that appointing Monk looks like a dreadful mistake. We have a two week break before a mini season of 8 games. Time to admit the mistake and have a reset. Get rid of Monk now (use the compensation money received for Harris) and ask Bonner to come back. It would give everyone a huge lift and in the worst case scenario that we still go down, I would much rather have Bonner start afresh than see what Monk can do in League 2.

It’s not that we were necessarily wrong to sack Bonner when we did, but we’re now in a position where we need someone to lift the club and get us over the line. That’s Bonner for me.

If he gets sacked that's more of the Harris settlement fee down the drain.
If we do end up paying out two managers contracts in one season, then perhaps the question of whether instead we could have invested more in the squad at the start of the summer should be raised? May have invested it in more dross, but perhaps with better investment in the squad Bonner would have been less defeatist and found some prolonged form.

I can’t see how Garry can survive after this week. Shite against Northampton, truly abysmal at Lincoln and just lamely surrendered today. This is supposed to be an experienced manager FFS. He surely can get some sort of tune out of this squad? Perhaps three years away was just far too long.

No the BONNER IN stuff is just an emotional though understandable reaction. He'll be as ineffective now as he was when he was binned. Whether Monk's appointment was a Strang and Barry one or a Barry one or a Strang one it's been a fcuk up.
Simon Grayson is suddenly looking sexy...
EDIT: that's a not funny joke btw....

Maybe Monk and Strang could share the same taxi and get away from screwing this club up any more

Monk out.
I don't want Bonner back, but only because I don't think I could cope with him having the manage this bunch of utter milquetoast weasels.
The only thing I'm asking myself is am I speaking out of anger?, will I change my mind when we beat Barnsley?, will sacking Monk make a difference?, do I think we'll sack him?
Answer - we'll see, but I don't think so.
I can't see us beating Barnsley with Monk in charge.
Probably not, the players look like they've checked out. Conscious decision or otherwise.
No, I don't think we'll sack him.

Neither do I. I'm fairly certain he will walk though.

All new managers should be given time, why doesn’t that apply to Monk? We have been awful all seasons, were the ‘Monk Out’ brigade really expecting a new manager to turn that around in 3 games? We need to stay up and calling for the current manager to go is not going to help.

We need to stay up and calling for the current manager to go is not going to help. Turn it around? No. But do better than a 0-10 defeat across two games. Yes, I expected far more. Which other games this season have we totally capitulated in? The two that got Bonner sacked? I can't think of any others. He's had two in three games, and it's not like the third game was a good performance, we were very lucky.

Were the ‘Monk Out’ brigade really expecting a new manager to turn that around in 3 games? I think people were expecting us to be organised, motivated and competitive.
