Sure but that's not going to help us much. It's an easy thing to ignore during interview, much harder when faced with the reality. But I hope you are right... Kentish It's all a matter of context, though. We may not have the best, but we certainly don't have the worst, squad in the league. He's presumably been employed for his abilities as a manager and a good manager will work with the resources they have or can realistically bring in. I don't buy all this stuff about it being more difficult to manage at a higher level and for all the hyperbole about the genius of a Klopp or a Pochettino, you'd have to assume they could work their managerial magic just as well in the more straitened contexts of the Conference or Leagues 2 and 1. The aims might not be regular Champions League, but sometimes mid-table or a promotion push take just as much managerial nous. So, Championship by 2026 it is, then. Go Garry!

Comes across nicely relaxed, measured in his words, more Bonner than Harris I would say. Will he be trying to galvanise the club and reestablish that connection from the terrace to the pitch? I'll be happy for him to prioritise reestablishing the connection from the ball to the back of the opposition's net.

I'm very happy with the appointment, we've certainly had some ups and downs in terms of feelings with all the rumours flying around but Monk is definitely in the 'more happy than not' category.
Welcome and let's hope for some Coconuts on Saturday.

Not sure if this has been said elsewhere but this fits the Cambridge model: has had success, but has had some set backs but is hungry to prove he can do this, and we can provide him with the vehicle for this

A really good insight to the way he handles himself, what he’s had to deal with in the past and what he has achieved in those roles. After listening to this it’s got me really looking forward to Saturday and confident he’ll be managing us in league one next season.

I think this is an excellent appointment and so much more inspiring than some of the other potential options. Really pleased and hopeful about this one.

Can see why he was the chosen one just by reading/listening to him. The return of Taylor should automatically give the other players a lift, also the fans. Needs to be a positive atmosphere on Saturday. Northampton are no mugs, have nothing to play for and will be out to spoil our party, but it’s a game we simply must be winning. Don’t care how we do it, just do it.

Does anyone know whether the Head Coach's office at the new training ground says "Head Coach" on the door or has the individual's name? I imagine it to be a very professional wooden amber and black plaque and, if it's a name, I'm getting concerned about how much budget is going on new signage.
And do we have the record for the quickest new training ground to see four new head coaches (including caretaker appointments)?

But is he an artist or a soldier?

Like his appreciation of stability and realism of the owners. The model of steady growth built on firm foundations. Also Morro having seen him at first hand at Birmingham must have been a big factor.

At least going from Harris to Garry keeps up the anal theme I guess.

Has he said where he lives? He has a very young family so there’s schools etc to consider. Or did I hear he lives in Bedford? Never been a fan of managers commuting miles. (Steve Thompson etc)
