It's CFU renewal time for me, and I'm going to continue my membership. I believe supporters' trusts are important and so I'm happy to be a member.
However, it's one of four supporters' organisations that make up the Shadow Board. And we have our SLO. And the Lottery which has it's own committee. All have separate websites and extol the benefits they have for the club.
I've been curious for a while about the seemingly sizeable overlap that some of these groups & individuals must surely have. I'm not wanting to open up a slagging match and I'm not asking who's best or more effective, but I'd love a diagram (like one of those band 'family tree' drawings!) or a simple explanation showing how
Cambridge Fans United Cambridge United Supporters Panel Amber Belles Cambridge United Supporters Club Supporter Liaison Officer Cambridge United Lottery
all fit into the whole that is Cambridge United and objectively what they add and where they overlap. I understand that Amber Belles is female-focused, but what are the key differences between CFU & CUSP, for example? Which group is the lottery most closely associated with these days? And, are there any other groups I've missed out because they're not mentioned on the main website?

Cambridge Aces I guess if the Amber Belles are included.
Beyond that CFU/CUSP has always seemed a bit Judean People's Front to someone who isn't a member. Didn't CFU shite the bed by noshing off the company line when it was completely uncalled for?

Where does the Cambridge Main Firm fit into this?

Without wanting to open old wounds, that's the sort of thing I'm not sure about. Did CUSP come about as a result of perceived wrongdoings by CFU or do they have different purposes? CFU have invested into the club and have Dave Matthews-Jones on the board who is also the SLO. CUSP are therefore independent and have no financial interest in the club. The point has been made before that do we really need 2 supporters groups
The lottery is an off shoot I believe of CFU. Are the Cambridge Aces still in existence? I believe that was some attempt at getting younger, NRE types involved in something

Don't think it was ever officially tied to the club

Don’t forget the PSB (Pyro Smoke Bomb) group/individual whose objective is to see the club continue its close relationship with local police forces and to justify the cost of CUFC installing CCTV in the stadium.

At least you've called it a smoke bomb, unlike the other bunch of handwringing retards who insist they're flares. Obviously pyros are great when done right, but they're still on the edge of acceptability when timed correctly, setting them off for no reason, at home, just makes everyone look daft. Let alone the Stevenage "we were in...apart from half the pitch lengthways and half the pitch widthways" incident.

Not sure I've ever seen them done right, certainly not at the Abbey anyway where they just look a little bit pathetic.
Bring back yellow pages I say. Never seen that not not look special.

It's not like it adds to the atmosphere. Maybe a load of themat once might look cool. One being thrown towards the pitch just looks pathetic. And that's without talking about the possible fines we could incur, which we could do without. But yes, it's the people complaining about it who are the 'retards'
