Who were the two lads who played for the New Zealand Olympic side that we signed and never played? Andrew

Does Jack Collison count? He was one of those we lost when the youth team was disbanded after relegation. Played for Wales a few times.

I was thinking of him but seeing as he was never a pro for us I'd say probably not.

Johann Gudmundson played 8 times for Iceland and was here for a 3 game loan in 2000. Gilbert Prilasnig has 16 caps for Austria if we can count him. Gilbert was the guy I was thinking of but could not remember name or country. At the time, I was excited as he had international pedigree. Does anyone know the story as to how he was at Cambridge but then never played? My old next door neighbour in Cambridge was an Ipswich Town physio and Prilasnig lodged with him for a short while. Think he had a trial with them also. Aforementioned neighbour knew I was a U's fan and said he was going to watch a friendly game at the Abbey one evening and asked if I wouldn't mind accompanying him and his friends as he had never been etc. Popped round before the match, was invited in for a quick beer or three and Prilasnig along with Fabian Wilnis were there also. Walking up Newmarket Road to the match was slightly surreal that evening.

Corrazzin and Steve Butler was a half decent partnership up front. Fair enough actually: Corazzin scored 39 in 105 appearances which is not too shabby. Paul Raynor was my favourite player in that era!

Cambridge United legends Alie Sesay and Jordan Jones have 10 and 12 caps for Sierra Leone and Northern Ireland respectively.
Idris El Mizouni has 1 cap for Tunisia.
Uche Ikpeazu and Jevani Brown have been called up for Uganda and Jamaica respectively but have not won senior caps.

Looking at all these names I think we can all agree the stand out CUFC former or future international. Played in a Euros. Scored in a Euros. And probably the best footballer to wear the CUFC shirt.

I'd say being possibly the worst player who's ever played for us makes you a legend of sorts.

He's not a player, obviously, but could there be a subsection for managers who went on to be an international manager?
Renard!
