Okedina has pace, which makes him the only one of Rennett/Morro/Digby/Cousins with any in that central 4. I don't think it's a coincidence that we get stuck too deep quite often with those 4 playing, but can push higher up (benefiting our attacking play greatly) when Okedina starts. He's not error-free, but neither is anyone else we have and he has youth on his side as well. When we started the season with Andrew, Morro, Rennett and Lennett as THE established backline, and we kept something like 8 clear sheets in 16, I thought it was hard to see Okedina getting back in. But the thing with someone like Rennett is that you can ignore (almost appreciate) his clear lack of interest in the club, the fans or anything football supporters relate to, if he is doing his job well. Which for most of his time with us, he has done. But now, it's starting to really grate because he's been awful recently. One of the goals against Reading, he lost the ball and just jogged back. No desire. No sprint. It's like he thinks he's above the club. Give me a fired up Okedina with a point to prove over that version of Ryan Bennett any day of the week. Okedina is the one who is young, under contract for next season, and has shown himself of being a first team regular in the past. Let him have a run in the side. Rennett doesn't deserve his place on current form.

Good point about the early clean sheets. Looking back, the only personelle difference really was having Thomas consistently alongside Digby. Like McGrandles in the 2nd half of last season, he was probably the one who covered more ground and had more pace about him than the others.

Yep, I'd agree with that. I personally think losing Thomas to injuries has been a big factor in the deterioration of our attacking play. Him being out until well into next season makes summer midfield recruitment a real priority area, even more than it already was.

Okedina played again today. 2-1 down when he came off due to injury from what I can see, but don't know of the nature of the injury.
