Blackpool just look better than us. We've been forced too deep by their pace and skill, so we need to find a way to get out more often 2nd half. We've not actually given up many chances so far though, for all the pressure. Not out of it, but best chance would be Blackpool taking their foot off the gas. Indeed they are just better than us. Not to say we can't compete with them, but we'll need to find another way to do it from how we have so far. How we've been playing is fine if we hadn't conceded... but we did. Ahadme is getting totally swamped as soon as the ball comes into him, so we need to either get someone alongside him or push Brophy & Kaikai closer when we do get the ball forward. Thankfully the Easter weekend takes the pressure off this game.

I think we're mostly defending them pretty well but it's all a bit too low block for my liking. It makes it look a little bit more last ditch and desperate than it perhaps is...I think we're actually containing them reasonably well.
Same old problem of hot potato'ing the ball from us, though. I'm really not sure if that's a lack of movement or a lack of quality. Or more likely both. If we could 1) pinch the ball of them a little higher, and 2) stop passing to tangerine shirts or pumping it to touch then I fancy us because their defence looks hesitant and a bit like it's got a mistake in it.
Weather isn't helping us I suppose, most notably with Mannions kicking. Maybe it'll hold up a little easier in the second.
No major complaints though. We are what we are so I'm not expecting us to suddenly start finding feet when it's blowing a gale. We're competitive and making it hard for Blackpool so that'll do me...hopefully we can pinch a shithouse in the second half.

I don't see anything to say that we haven't tried to attack them - Brophy was playing beautiful backheels down the line in the first 15 minutes. Over time we've just been forced back, in my opinion.
Edit: Meant to quote onlyluke92 there.

Poor half, too many players let their standards drop, Cousins, Digby and Gibbons in particular really struggling. Would be bringing Kachunga and Lankester on fairly quick in the 2nd half.
Need to get more support around Ahadme as they do look a little vulnerable at the back but we just cannot sustain anything. Keep in the game and hope the subs can have an impact. Blackpool do look a very good team though.

Yeah, definitely, what are Doug and Johnno on about? Love our commentary team but their player misnaming is horrendous Okedina and Shilow Tracey were mixed up countless times last season as an example

27% possession, 59% passing accuracy...woeful. We've struggled to string more than 2 passes together and have conceded possession too easily on so many occasions.
Ahadme getting little change out of a strong Blackpool defence. Liam Bennett getting little to no help from Jobe, with Blackpool seemingly having 2 men up against him most of the time. R Bennett and Digby their usual slow, pondering selves. And guess who's given the ball away the most...yes, Cousins of course.
The goal was a decent finish from the edge of the area, but totally avoidable; we half cleared the ball but then Gibbons, Digby and Brophy all left the ball to each other, gifting Blackpool time and space to pick the pass for the assist.
Brophy and Kaikai offering nothing positive of note; Liam Bennett our biggest attacking threat!

Need some subs, the quality on the ball has been nothing short of abysmal

Really wish Gibbons could cross. Would be nice. Would also be nice if he was left-footed.

This is more like it. Keeping the ball better at least.
