If there are any positives it is that there is only one relegation place for us to worry about, and that is occupied by Cheltenham at present. They have two horrible games coming up against Lincoln and Pish, before a trip to the Chavs on the final day. Desperate or not, I can’t see them pocketing enough to get past us, and I hope I’m right.
We have a hard game against Derby, who are desperate for the points as much as we are. Anything can happen as we well know.
What I do know is we have to be better than the complete garbage we produced tonight.

never seen so many missed and under hit passes from the team in general. First time you've seen us this season then?

Sick of our continued failure to get any kind of result midweek. We are always abject. Is it lack of preparation? There must be a fundamental reason for it. At least Fleetwood are now out of it and probably also Vale given they have Bolton on Saturday.
Have a horrible feeling it will go to the last game now, as I doubt we will get anything out of Derby or Wycombe.

Like so much of this season defensively sound but the lack of focus to get forward has been such a killer. No idea what Kaikai or Kachunga were supposed to be doing all game. Brophy and Gassan in for them on Saturday I expect with Gibbons back.
Oh and congratulations to Hoddle, hopefully the first of many appearances for him

Annoyingly Burton have Fleetwood last game. We could royally f**k this up which would not surprise me.

You mean that he was marginally less shite than the rest? Because, believe me, he was shite.

Maybe the pitch wasn’t dry enough tonight.
I expect it to be like the fricking Sahara on Saturday if that helps our “style” of play.

It just seems to be Tuesdays (and obviously a lot of Saturdays) that we put in an awful performance. We’ve won on a Monday night and twice on a Friday this season. Maybe we could make up some rule like the City Council impose a no light pollution in the CB5 area on Tuesday evenings between 7 and 10pm. So we have to play on Wednesdays at home. It would make my life easier too with ferrying children to after school activities on Tuesdays

Disappointing night where it’s hard to say who was more at fault, Monk or the players. If Will hadn’t saved the pen it could easily have been a Reading type result cos the tactics and performance were just as bad.
Still not worried, but it’s looking like we will stay up due to others, rather than do it in style ourselves.
All felt a little bit like a step backwards. Monk has done a great job since the international break, but he got a lot wrong tonight. Was obvious in the first half that it just wasn’t working and looked like too many players didn’t really know what they were meant to be doing.
Jobe and Rossi didn’t do much wrong, but I’d be bringing Rennett back in on Saturday. I like the old/young combo. Just felt at times tonight that Jobe and Rossi were a little naive in certain situations and missed that bit of leadership alongside them.
Very frustrating that Lankester got so little game time. He always looks forward and tries to create something. We could have done with that for at least 15 mins longer.
Derby will be just as nervous as us on Saturday, more so if anything, but tonight was a little concerning in that certain players looked miles off it. A lot for Monk to think about.

Looking on the bright side, realistically we just need 1 point now surely: one out of Cheltenham and Burton are bound to lose at least one game from the five they have left. So a good night for us in that sense. Let’s hope Smith & Knibbs do us a favour at the weekend…

So our Tuesday league games ‘under the lights’ this season looks like this: P10 W0 D2 L8. Are Mondays pizza and beer nights for the players?

We had stinkers in the promotion season on Tuesdays even. Crazily one of those draws was against Champions Pompey as well
