Given their win on Saturday, the Oxford v Lincoln game could be a cracker!

I too see the matches going "Barnsley".
But yeah, what a bunch of fixtures these are, every match has something riding on it. Burton - Cheltenham and Oxford - Lincoln are crackers to get at this stage.
I see us getting a draw and Burton/Cheltenham going the same way, Vale winning and the rest can just please themselves.

Fairly calm about what Cheltenham, Pot Vale, Burtons and Shrewsbury do tbh because I'm confident we'll do what we need regardless.
Last season was different, we needed promotion form and we needed results to go our way elsewhere (thanks to Burton for 'doing us a favour' etc etc). This year it's in our hands and right now our hands are steady while others are shakey.
(but yeah, it's not mathematical until the fat Turing sings so Pot Vale, Cheltenham and Shrewsbury defeats with us winning please. Lets put it to bed, tuck it up nice and tight, and leave the night light on for it until next season)

It would be kind of cool if Burton rely on us getting something at Vale on the final day and we do it. I wonder if any two teams have ever kept the other up in back to back seasons before.

Anyone of a weak disposition, look away now...
Worst case league table after tonight (assuming Fleetwood, Port Vale, Burton and Shrewsbury win, we lose and Burton's goal difference ends up better than ours):
18. Shrewsbury 44 - 49 19. Burton - 44 - 46 20. The U's 43 - 46 21. Port Vale 44 - 43 22. Fleetwood 44 - 40 23. Cheltenham 43 - 38 24. Carlisle 44 - 30
Best case scenario (we win and everyone else loses apart from Burton and Cheltenham drawing):
18. Cambridge 43 - 49 19. Shrewsbury 44 - 46 20. Burton - 44 - 44 21. Port Vale 44- 40 22. Cheltenham 43 - 39 23. Fleetwood 44 - 37 24. Carlisle 44 - 30
Obviously the chances of the worst case scenario are slim. But as they say, "plan for the worst and hope for the best"
Massive night tonight!

It terrified me haha. We'd be right back in it again with the prospect lingering that it'll go to the last day, which I really don't want.

Even ignoring Fleetwood and the shrews (who have 4th and 3rd away), I really don't see both Vale and Burton winning. We'll be fine.

Fairly calm about it all. I fancy us to get something tonight, our recent record against teams with nothing to play for is good, especially compared to the sides around us.
It highlights again just how important that international break was. The teams around us have so little time on the training ground to sort things.
Add in the opposition our rivals face tonight and we have to be confident of getting the job done. Wycombe are one of the last teams you’d want to be playing in a must win game-coming off the back of a 2-0 up and ****** it up Saturday. Shrewsbury beating Bolton seems unlikely. Fleetwood will probably feel the backlash from the hammering Oxford dished out to Pish.
This game looked like being absolutely crucial a few weeks ago, it’s important, but we’ve got ourselves in a great position where it’s really a case of whether we crawl or sprint over the line.

I’m usually a glass half empty guy when it comes to CUFC but I think the best case scenario has a greater chance than the worst case of happening tonight.
Although I think we will narrowly loose tonight. Getting Fleetwood away from last season vibes. Someone will miss an absolute sitter late on.

Given Vale would still have to go again and get something at Bolton (and hope we can't match the same points tally across 2 home games), and then beat us, and Cheltenham would still need another 2 wins from 3 minimum after 1 win in 11 - Wouldn't be too worried. You can get approx 688/1 on the worst case scenario. And even the immediate scenario Burton/Vale/Bristol wins is 13/1 so fairly unlikely.
