Apparently the end of season awards were presented after the match today yet we still have another home match to play and our place in League One to retain. Never heard this happen before. Another Tunbridge idea? Anyway who won what?

Huge damp squib one imagines.
Wouldn't have bothered myself if I was running the show. Perhaps obligatory because of sponsors?

Last home match of the season when fixtures released. Last Saturday match anyway. 2145hrs on a Tuesday? Everyone fucks off even when we win

Wycombe match is rearranged, so presumably today was scheduled in well in advance as the last home match.
Not unfeasible, nor unreasonable.

Other reason is that we wanted to try and sell more brewboard as it’s Saturday and thought we might sell out celebrating our not safe or relegated yet quandary

Surely the answer is to do the awards before the game. That's how it used to happen years ago.

I waited around for a bit and saw the players walk around the pitch but only Will Mannion seemed to actually go over to the crowd and pose for photos. The remaining crowd could be described as sparse at best. I didn’t stay for any presentations but heard the PA system from halfway across Coldhams Common that George Thomas won something.

Liam Bennet won what was introduced as the 2003/2004 club+CFU player of the season award. It was all rushed, <half hearted and very tinpot. Not sure it would have been any better delivered or recieved if we were a point better off already.
At least Mannion, Kacha, and Taylor took a decent amount of time to sign autographs which means a lot for the kids, and we got to see Dunk on the pitch.

We hung around and my nieces got loads of photos with different players. Most of them popped back into the changing room first then came back out. Really nice & chatty, plus special call out for Lyle Taylor, so friendly, chatty and accommodating.
Agree that a Saturday is prob the best choice of day to do the awards, just a shame we haven’t wrapped up safety yet.
In terms of the game, I really enjoyed it. Thought the effort was immense and in a short period of time working with monk, the players understanding of their positions has improved loads. Really excited about an off season of working together, alongside the numerous new players using Monks contacts across the championship etc.

It would of made more sense to do it before the game on Tuesday
