Are support contracts for PC's for domestic use worth renewing ?

I wouldn't take one out in the first place as I am confident at fixing PCs. The same could not be said for something related to plumbing, for example, where I am competent only in bodging a problem until a professional arrives.
So it depends on how able you feel at fixing it, and how much the support contract is charging compared to the computer fixit company on your local high street.

How much are they asking, and who is it with?

It's with Dell . Have asked for a quote but they haven't got back to me yet. With the help of my computer repair man, we bought the Computer + Monitor direct from Dell saving approx £80 than if we bought from Curry's . Dell regularly update drivers & optimize etc which I suppose I can get without them. Wondering if not to renew & contact my computer repair man instead if I get any problems

You did right avoiding Curry's. If you know someone good, and who you trust, I'd use them rather than a support contract.

Well , after just receiving a quote from Dell of £178.82, I think I will definitely give them a miss.
