Time to give the LibDems a chance, they couldn't do much worse. Very true, although they didn’t cover themselves in glory last time they were in (coalition) either. The problem there was that they were the minority party in the coalition therefore were not able to get much of their own way. I f they had been the majority party things would have been much different. There was of course policies that they wanted to adopt but were out voted by the Tories . In hindsight, going into a coalition with the Tories was a big mistake which is not likely to happen again.

Just checking in with you guys, you must be so happy how things are going. How many smuggling gangs have been “crushed” so far? I think it might be less than one. We can review the promised house building progress in a bit. And another verbal gaff from your man yesterday calling Sunak “Prime Minister”, he seems to be making a habit of it (sausages and torpedo previously) and is coming across as senile as Biden. That and lying in parliament but at least he has a nice free suit and glasses. The only tool that his toolmaker dad made was him. Freebies is not something new. Government officials both Labour & Tory have been enjoying these for years

I wonder if the people that vehemently denied that Labour would carry on privatising the NHS (despite Streeting, Starmer and co all very clearly saying they would do so) are still so firm in their beliefs.
£1.3b of community services in the west country sold off to private equity.
Alan Milburn non-executive director of the Department of Health and Social Care.
And we haven't even reached the budget yet.

In an entirely predictable outcome, the policeman who killed an unarmed black man has been let off with it.
I bet Kier is smiling about his legacy continuing on in such a fashion.

Hmmm, the guy was driving a car, which had been used in a firearms incident the night before, and he was trying to ram his way out of a tactical road block, with armed officers pointing weapons at him - personally if an armed cop was to stop me, it would be stop immediately and hands up

Nor should they be able to walk free having done so. Ideally the victim would be behind bars, but as that hasn't happened, the policeman should be behind bars.

It's pretty damning as a character witness, that's for sure, but doesn't really affect whether the policeman was right to shoot when he did.

The budget is going to be a disaster . I thought Labour were the party of the working people? Wonder how many people are regretting voting them in now

The budget is going to be a disaster . I thought Labour were the party of the working people? Wonder how many people are regretting voting them in now What alternative was there? Continuing with the party that caused the mess and actively making things worse or the chancers who wouldn't have any idea how to run a government. I might not agree with everything they are doing or will do but you can't deny they earned the opportunity to give something else a go, if it doesn't work (or potentially even if it does) they won't get another go.

The budget is going to be a disaster . I thought Labour were the party of the working people? Wonder how many people are regretting voting them in now Minimum wage increased. Tax threshold freeze not extended. Carers allowance more than doubled. Capital gains tax increased. New investment for schools and NHS. Which of these things do you think harms working people?

Anyone who wants to save or invest rather than blowing their income. Farmers won’t be too happy either, which is a bit dangerous if they decide to stop rather than pass their business on. Thank god they will be gone in less than 5 years.

The massive increase in employer National Insurance will mean not many people will be getting a pay rise over the next two years or so. Madness that Labour didn’t just commit to reversing the unfunded Tory NI cuts they tried and failed to bribe the electorate with
