You been drinking? Socialist governments in the UK increase the size of the state every time and the centre right have to unpick the mess and the quangos they have created. Whilst also undoing the power that is vested in the unions and pandering to their unreasonable demands. The stories main problem last time was Covid and the amount spent on the furlough scheme which no doubt many socialists were happy to lap up at the time. At risk of a wooosh here, what socialist governments? There's no woosh. Our learned friend just doesn't know what socialist means.

Yeah, that's it. A budget announced two weeks ago is the cause of low growth over the three months before it was revealed.
Come on, dude.

Yes, Labour were in power in that period and yes, there can be an instant hit or rise to growth as we saw in extreme was during covid. But the foundations for growth were laid by the Tories, it's a bit like turning an oil tanker, immediate movements can change direction but it will be slow. I see our 'friend' did not mention the other bit of news this week - Band of England have said Brexit will cost us 4% growth over 15 years - hmmm, no doubt he will say thats down to Starmer but I think its more to do with the Tories!!

Thought we'd all agreed that Brexit was Corbyn's fault?

Given you're seemingly anti everything, I'd be interested to know what you are in favour of or people you do agree with?

It's down to the Tories who could have done a softer Norway style one, instead of the harsh one we got. It was also the Tories who spread likes about it, which encouraged people to vote that way - had the 350m a week been given to the NHS? Tory slogan or Labour one?

It’s down to the voters who voted for it. Mostly in the “red wall” seats, London and costal towns. In fact much of Labour heartlands.

And I don’t believe for a minute you voted Remain

And I don’t believe for a minute you voted Remain Eh? The growth figure just published was due to a lack of confidence with the expectations of Labour’s budget. Why are you finding that so hard to understand. However I don’t expect the budget to have stimulated any growth so expect a crap figure in 3 months time too. Re: Brexit, I was responding to someone who was blaming the Tories when it was mostly Labour voters who switched to vote for Johnson and hence a “hard Brexit”. You get what you voted for and yes, I voted remain.

Given you're seemingly anti everything, I'd be interested to know what you are in favour of or people you do agree with? Unlike many on here I make a judgement on each policy decision individually rather than blindly follow whatever one political party does or says. It’s a much more pragmatic approach.
