I don't really understand why the floating fans are so league dependent - is Doncaster any different to Lincoln etc It is when you're going away from home and, ironically, it means our success in getting promotion has resulted in me coming to the Abbey less. I guess I must be a statistical anomaly in that sense, given our home attendances are so strong. The reason for my reduced attendance at the Abbey is simple. I get to perhaps 12-15 games a season and when we were in League 2, these were usually at home, because I'm not motivated to drive 3 hours to go to Grimsby or Newport. But driving to a nice ground, a Sunderland, Derby or Birmingham, is somewhat more appealing. So my 12-15 games started to be more like 8 home 6 away, or something like that, rather than 11 or 12 at home with a trip to Col U or somewhere local thrown in. Having said that, I'm now very close to completing all the League One grounds. So my "say something positive" contribution is that getting relegated will give me a chance to go to more away grounds, if I can actually find the motivation to go to them.

Paul Barry could save a rubbish load of money by scrapping the ground redevelopment plans as crowds will inevitably plummet after relegation! This is how it normally pans out, lots of talk of ground redevelopment in the 'good times', then a relegation puts an end to it.

I understand your Birminghams, your Derbys, your Pishs are going to result in sell outs and we would lose those types of games but if we are getting 6,000 home fans for Lincoln, I struggle to get in the head of someone who then wouldn't come watch say Sutton at home.

I 'think' there were some incentivised tickets made available for Saturday, a lot of first timers I believe. That may explain the higher than expected attendance.

I don't really understand why the floating fans are so league dependent - is Doncaster any different to Lincoln etc I think there is a prestige factor: you're going to watch football that has one division between it and the Premier League... Not that it makes a difference to us lot but I think it might for some.

Same teams, clearly it's not the same. Players are worse, prestige is worse, prizes are worse

Brentford v Bournemouth will be a sell out if it's a PL match, it certainly won't if the two teams were in L1.

Who's that young chap in the Radio Pish studio that apparently played for us until this Summer? By God he's a sagacious & articulate cove & no mistake. The way he deconstructed our second-half debacle suggests that he knows a bloody sight more about football than either Jonno or Doug, & certainly more than Bungle's keeper. He could probably wipe the floor with Monky-boy, too. I'd be minded to appoint him manager right now. Forget about a playing career, sonny. Get the sheepskin coat on.

He certainly sounded very knowledgeable listening in the car on the way home. Can BBC Cambridgeshire sign him up and have him ask the post match questions.

That was Saleem Akanbi, every time I've heard the lad on there he's pretty damn good !
