Forest fans are stupid then. They need to get over the fact that he was crap for England and Wolfsburg and look at the fact he was instrumental in Manchester United's treble, did a great job with Middlesbrough including winning their first trophy in years and getting to a European final and won the title with FC Twente having finished runners-up in his first season. He also has an exceptional record with bringing through youth team players. One of the fella's in my office is a Middlesboro fan, and laughed out loud when he read the bit about the youth team players. He said Mac didn't do enough and Southgate did it too much. Read into that what you like 'Exceptional record' was probably rather strong, but there can be no doubting his record there was impressive. Adam Johnson, Stewart Downing, Lee Cattermole, Tony McMahon, Stuart Parnaby, Matthew Bates, James Morrison and Danny Graham all made their debuts under him and have gone on to forge succesful careers largely in the Premier League.

I've got nothing against the bloke personally, I just feel he was found out as a manager without Dean Smith at his side. Having two coaches at this level is relatively unheard of, and still he claimed resource poverty. I just don't think he was able to cope it the more typical environment that you get at this level compared with his beloved Orient.
On the bright side, hopefully he'll take a few of our listed players off our hands and speed up the process of our budget falling into line with intended targets. Saah is a near certain to be of interest to him, surely, whilst Russell and possibly Platt may also be targets he'll take a punt on. I guess it depends on what they need for the squad, but he does strike me as a man to go with the players he already knows a bit about.

Saah yes, Platt maybe, but Russell very unlikely. Living in Humberside, I doubt a move to deepest Devon would appeal to him.

They just lost Guy Branston to a mangerial job I forget where, so I'd say it was an absolute certainty he'll be in for Saah.

Branston has signed as a player at Bradford City.
Also needs a new kepper, Bevan has followed Buckle to Brizzle Rovers after Potter going to Newport. So, Brown or Naisbitt?

Expected him to turn up at a League 2 club but not until October.
Personally I don't bear him any ill will. He was an honest failure here. I liked the bloke and hope he does well. Questionable appointment by Turkey though.

i am totally astonished he has got a job in the league almost speechless tbh. but as youve all said glad hes not conning us anymore. good riddance. A League club was the only place he was going to get a job. He has a track record of stabilisation and success there and huge underachievement in this division.

Well that should be a year's money saved then, which is great news. Perhaps we can now go and sign Ryan Charles.

This has got to be good news for us. Looks like Torquay will be back down in the Conf by the end of the season! A good move for ML but, IMO a bad move for the Turks.
