Will has stated that the old board isn't and won't be archived. It's all gone

Instability and quality issues, with no plans for an upgrade in the near future.
From what I understand

Judging by the error messages I used to get when the old message board went down, the software had something to do with 'Microsoft' so unsurprising it kept crashing.

I thought it was too, But have heard from Will Jones that a large part of it is the ridiculous amount of times the old message board used to fall apart under any amount of traffic.
It's a real shame as there have been some epic debates on the old board.

We should rebuild a page pointing to all the best videos on YouTube and elsewhere - anybody got an archive/backup of that?

I'll email Claire to see if they've got anything in the PTV background that can give us a hand with links.

When Will told us this morning that there would be no archive I decided I would make an offline image of Lets talk football this evening, but everything then moved very quickly and all access has already been removed so no chance now - shame.

Aye, it does all seem to have happened very quickly. I was expecting there'd be at least a couple of days between the announcement and the move. But never mind

Just to confirm what's already been said, I've heard back from Claire, everything from the old forum is already gone forever it would seem. Sorry all.

A shame that - it wouldn't have hurt to have the two running in tandem for a few days so we could access anything of interest/value before it was lost forever.

I did indeed have some advanced warning - the five minutes came in handy!
And Pencil, there's nothing 'political' in it. The old forum was very unreliable and crashed every time a major news story unfolded and people flocked to it.
This led to unfounded conspiracy theories and much frustration on all sides. I'm hopeful that this forum will prove more reliable - we shall see.
Also, from a personal point of view, I think it's better to have an unofficial forum - it's more in the spirit of what football forums should be about and reminds me of the good old Rivals.net days.

Russ, doesn't it piss you off that you can't remind people of what they said 12 months previously without access to the OMB archive.
