apart from CFU, do you really think anyone will see this as a good investment?
I mean, losing money every year, not really improving, unstable for sometime now etc...

Name a football club that isn't losing money.

There's a few in upper leagues and other countries that don't. But it's rare yes.
Premiership and Championship are seen as good investments tho, publicity etc...
Is conference really seen that way?

It could be a good investment if we get a new ground in which we can make a lot of non football mony ie conferance hall etc.But the club in it current form will only interest us and may be someone with connections to Cambridge. What the club need to do is actually start looking for active investor's rather than waiting for them to contact them.

Its early days but we, CFU have had positive enquiries, why not all come along to the CFU agm next Monday and back the club going forward with a joint venture. Once more we need to reach out to the people of Cambridgeshire as we did with the ground sale, knowing had we had a bit more time would have hit our target.

The fact that we have had early feelers from potential investors is good news, Colin, but I don't think we should shut out a major shareholder ('sugar-daddy') with a controlling interest by CFU.
Although I would be happy to contribute to a ground based investment that isolates the new ground from day to day running of the club, so that it is clearer that asset chasing isn't an option for speculative investors and the club still benefits from this income stream.
Ideally I'd like to see the new ground owned 50/50 between CFU and community partners to ensure a benign landlord. This would refocus CUfc funds from stadium investment into commercial investments. Hopefully such investments would improve the match-day experience and also provide income to boost the running budget. Again, if these investments could be held in trust for the club that would help to protect the capital and the future of the club. Such a trust might attract further donations and bequeathments , certain that they would make a lasting, building, difference to the club.
Maybe a night club could be combined with the stadium? These rarely 'get going' until late (evening fixtures would finish by then). I recognise that the Social/Supporters Club (paid up member) fulfils that role at present, but I feel that it lacks a commercial edge that a synergy with cafe-bars under/behind the stands and a single management contract would bring.
I have plenty of thoughts on this subject and would welcome a CFU thread/forum on here that could allow fans to input more than is possible within the limited time available during a meeting when CFU will have news to impart.
I think you do a great job as fans director, Colin. Your voluntary work around the ground and fund raising for CRC are an example to us all.

I think selling the lease as a commercial asset could work, if our landlords are happy with it, what I mean is selling our space rather than the actual lease, companies can then come in and transform areas of the ground for their own use and pay us rent?

We absolutely must not sell our lease to anybody until the ground issue is resolved finally and set in granite. It is our only asset of any long term book value at all. I'd rather we dropped a division and cut our cloth according to our means as opposed to playing with fire like that.

Quite right, Jerry. The lease is the club's asset and must not be parted with execpt under circumstances which deliver a future for the club which covers all of the angles and circumstances which are likely to crop up.

To true Robert, also as lurid has suggested, we have supporters with great views and ideas which we need to embrace moving forward as one single unit for the benifit of the club
