I desperately wanted us to stay at the amber temple, but to be honest I`m very, very relieved we have `respectable` landlords now.
I mentioned before about spivs, chancers, wasters, crooks and barrow boys coming out of the wood-work, but clubs themselves are generally worthless and it`s the land these parasites are interested in.
`Some people`will only be interested in brokering some kind of deal with our new landlords, and creaming a few quid in the process, maybe through building work contracts etc. I hope our `respectable` landlords will spot all this a mile off.
One of the (sadly) laughable things, is that fans think `some people`are likely to put money in. For goodness sake, `some people` are brilliantly skilled at robbing Peter to pay Paul, and appearing to be the panacea whilst not having a pot to pi55 in. I can`t for the life of me think of a good example that might be taking place right now.
But we`ll be alright, the board will choose wisely, everyone will be carefully vetted, I mean, it`s not as though we`d get involved with some bloke the manager met down the bookies.

York is back at Histon and is helping them out,Rolls wouldn't be allowed to come here without selling Weymouth,Ans Baldwin and Roach have sorted out there differences according to article in Cen the other week but both have shares in Histon which wouldn't allow them to come here untill they have sold them.I hope none of them takeover but I wouldn't mind seeing Baldwin invold at some level as he's is good at at what he does but don't let him take over the purse strings.

If the current major shareholders are serious about leaving the club in good hands, I'd be disappointed to see any of the names mentioned so far take control of the club.

Agreed, with the possible exception of Baldwin.

If someone suggested to you 3 months ago that if either of the names below would head up a buy-out of Cufc you would have said it would never happen. However, here we are now with the real possibility it might - crazy! York Roach Baldwin Sooty et al What about if harwood and Howard were added to the list? !

With our new home already at the choice of others, I would be worried at any new investment that is not backed up with significant cash or some pretty good form in tranforming a small club for the better. The club seems to be in a pretty hard spot, York comes with some reputation. But with no ground to lose, my worry is real cash and a good plan, on top of the reputation.

Okay, we all know that buying Cufc will not directly earn a potential invester a penny.....so what is the cream that these potential investors are after? To me, grosvenor hold the key to our future finances, brokering a deal with them to suit their outside business interests is about the only driver in such a buy out. For example (and purely speculation) roach could do a deal with grovenor to open a hotel on the New ground site etc etc. Any thoughts ?
This is obviously assuming that all potential investors want a return of some note.

Roach wouldn't be that interested. What we need is a few local wealthy people in conjuntion with Cfu running the club with some type of bond scheme for fans to invest in Cfu to take this club forward without overspending or over budgeting. Both of these 2 main faults of all the prevous boards no real proper buissness plan set out by those at the top going back to when the day Reg left.

Hooky, your right, but Norman did have a great working plan going forward but it was not adhered to and we lost our way.

A bond scheme seems the best idea 2000 people put in £10 a month evey year, and that would at least pay for our rent. With that we need perhaps 2 or 3 companies to put in another £50k each, with our existing sponsors that should give us more investment than we have now?
I guess we all need to know how much we are loosing in a year to really know how much investment we will need.

The bond scheme you propose seems little different from a season ticket. It might be nice if you could buy a season ticket by contracting in to a regular monthly payment. With a season by season release clause from the payment the club would be secure enough in their planning. Season tickets would then be affordable by a larger section of the fan-base. The inertia of a standing order or direct debit instruction with the bank might improve retention too. You would have to opt out rather than opt in each year.
Increasing the ticket price would need permission to adjust the bank order, so the club would have an incentive to only increase when truly needed to, to avoid putting off those that wouldn't opt in, but fail to opt out.

The problem with that it then makes it perhaps unaffordable to everybody, as you are looking perhaps payments of £30 a month for a season ticket and the bond scheme. if we can sell the bond scheme as a business venture it could work, seperate to the season ticket sales?
