The two books following seemed 'interlinked' on Amazon.
Are they the same book, or nearly the same book?
Thanks for any help...
Cambridge United: 101 Golden Greats (Desert Island Football Histories)
Cambridge United: The League Era 1970-2005 - a Complete Record

Missing out on a pot of gold there Gary! Could buy the club back with that sort of money. Oh hang on, perhaps that's not such a bright idea....!

Of all the improvements the club has made in recent years, getting a proper chairman on board has to be one of the most important.
Thank goodness for Dave Doggett.

Much improved compared to some of the stuff you wrote a decade or more ago. And I really am pleased that the Club has a "proper chairman". It only took six attempts in as many years to do so. All's well that ends well. Oh how I miss those exchanges we had.

It's already written - but it is staying private so as not to upset anyone involved with the club past or present. Of course you haven't written anything, still having trouble with the truth? I was so looking forward to reading it on the pre-season tour to China. Impressed that you know what is written and what isn't written. I didn't realise you had access to my study and files. It is indeed written and it is an inside view of the Club covering the period from 1982, when my company first became a sponsor of the Club, to 2005 when I resigned first as Chairman and then subsequently as a Director of the limited company. As for the tour of China. Dr Johnny Hon, who was a Director of the Club at the time, introduced a Chinese business, who had a local UK representative, to Graham Eales who then introduced me to them. They specialised in arranging sporting activities for Chinese children in England and for English children in China. Given Johnny's origins, his business connections in the Far East and his Global Group of companies' activities including sporting activities, we had every reason to believe a solid connection between the Club and various organisations in China could be established. Multiple meetings with Chinese intermediaries had taken place and details of a pre-season tour were being prepared. Regrettably the Chinese connections that had been established were not all we had been led to believe they were. It would have been a great opportunity but, as with many things connected with China a decade ago, things were not always exactly as they seemed and the guys we were dealing with were unable to deliver the Chinese end of the deal.
