If we use the SS for home fans then where do away fans go particularly those who bring 1400 and sell it out. It’s not like we are selling out the whole home sections every game. The South Habbin hasn’t sold out all season even against Boro. We need all the income we can and if we say only let 800 away fans in the South Habbin and they have 800 empty seats in the SS it’s going to be daft. Maybe we are looking at segregation in the SS and using some of that plus South Habbin but it may reduce capacity. Most away clubs next year will bring large followings as two of the smaller ones have gone down in Cheltenham & Fleetwood.
If we were selling out all home areas every week, I could understand reducing away numbers to minimum allowed but we’re not at the moment

When we’ve used the South Stand for home fans, what percentage of the tickets were actually paid for at full price?
I thought we gave away loads of free tickets to kids groups or at vastly reduced prices. Obviously this is great to get kids on board so they want to pay for tickets when they get the bug of watching live football but would we fill it with home fans paying full price consistently?

If we were selling out all home areas every week, I could understand reducing away numbers to minimum allowed but we’re not at the moment Seated areas (ie the main stand) sell out far quicker than the terraces. So that’ll be the logic behind making the south stand a home area. We’re more likely to sell out an additional 1,500 seats in the south stand than the 1.000 or so terraced tickets in the south Habbin.

At the famous Bristol City 2nd replay in 1990, pretty certain the away fans were housed in the south habbin which at the time was divided diagonally into an upper terrace and a lower seating area (bolted to terrace). Sounds exactly what is needed right now. Also, made for a great atmosphere. Think home fans had the old south terrace.

As we have to give seats to away fans we could give them a block in the south stand plus the south Habbin terrace.
A line of stewards and a little fence between home and away fans (to segregate the rest of the south stand) should work as that seems to be enough at even some premier league grounds such as Arsenal.
It’s always seemed very strange to me to give away fans the newest stand.

Bristol City fans packed out the Allotments End.I stood in the Habbin towards the away end.You can see it still on You Tube.

The way to attract new fans, especially the mums and dads with kids, is to make the attendance as comfortable as possible. Do they want to stand for nearly 2 hours on a ramshackle terrace or sit comfortably in a newish stand. The ss looks woeful when only 1/3 full and bloody annoying when main stand is sold out so have to stand.
I like the idea of bolting seats in the south habbin and giving the ss to home supporters

This kind of average would have seemed fanciful ten years ago as we were limbering up to take ourselves out of non league. Makes me wonder if we'll be averaging 10,000+ in 2034 in the redeveloped Abbey 😲 in 2034 in the redeveloped Abbey - as early as that?

From the CEO update: "Hope to be in a position to share some initial designs and illustrations probably February-time." What year will that February be? 2025?

South Habbin will house away fans next season. Confirmed by PB in 9am statement
"Given the growing attendances at the Cledara Abbey - which are at their highest for over 30 years - we want to ensure as many home fans as possible can watch the team next season. So, for the 2024/25 season, the South Stand will be a family stand for home fans only, with away supporters to be situated in the South Habbin."
