Some of those people with prams are damned quick! I finally managed to get under 25 minutes again for the first time in 2 years, but I'm still getting overtaken by 10 year olds! That's the beauty of parkrun, it's truly for all abilities.

I wouldn't worry about that. I've dipped under 20 mins before and then realized I was out kicked by a kid who turned out to be 9. Sometimes you just got to hold your hand up and say well done.

Had anyone done the cambridge boundary marathon in March? Please see my interaction with Spyros (27/1/17) on Page 9 of this very thread. After last year's humbling crash out at Orchard Park, I'm very much back in training for another go in March. Factors I will be considering will include: - Not enough running in the 10 days immediately before marathon
- Too much running in the 10 days immediately before marathon
- Going out too fast (is there any other way?)
- Too little respect paid to mixed terrain - the Ditton Meadows stage in particular did a lot of damage
Hopefully, with enough gym work in the next three months I'll be back with glutes like Paul Raynor's neck measurement to tackle it all over again.

Cambridge 3rd kit makes a brilliant running shirt-especially in the dark. Thank you Cambridge for thinking of the runners.

I’ll be there on Sunday with the better half. She normally runs the ‘Cambridge’ in a United shirt which gets a few morale boosting cheers, but think she’s in a vest for The Landmarks.

Has anyone had an issues with posterior tibial tendons or plantar fasciitis? I ran a half marathon in Luzern in October after a patchy spell of training, but I felt by base fitness would get me through. It did, but I had searing pain afterwards in my arches, and calf and Achilles on one side. I eventually went to see a physio who reckoned it was to do with the posterior tibial tendon being put under strain by pronation, thereby affecting those other areas. He gave me some exercises to do which didn't do a great deal, so I ended up buying a supportive insole which has had a much better effect and I've been able to make two tentative returns to 5k racing the last few weeks.
However, I'm worried about the longer-term recovery process and whether I can maintain the recent gentle progress without a relapse and just with insoles and swimming as support. Any experience?

I had a similar problem during the recent Cambridge Half, about 11 miles my calf and Achilles just went on me, had to walk it out for a bit before grimacing through the final 2 miles. Last couple of weeks I can feel it niggling during some runs. I have noticed a slight improvement since doing some isolation exercises (like calf raises), and I have heard swimming is supposed to really help too. I like the sound of your supportive insole though so might even give that a try myself.

I just bought a 7 pound pair of insoles from Amazon and they seem to have helped. I haven't run in them because of the raise of the heel they give which makes the trainer sit a bit differently but with supportive trainers my leg/ankle has held up okay in the races.
