I saw a couple of CUFC shirts on my way round. One lady in the 07/08 stripey number, then a bloke in a more recent blue away shirt.
Having done two other half marathons before (Hackney and Ealing) I must say that the Cambridge edition was rather good.

We should all do it next year and wear Shirts on behalf of Marcus. I'd be up for it.

The race was great, ideal running weather, course was flat and interesting. Only downside, with the increased numbers it did get pretty bunched up at a few points which was frustrating. Having so many people out on the streets cheering on made a real difference as did my training, helped me finish in 1:40:06. Great to see many U's running too, nice to chat to a couple after the finish - I did see one Pish shirt though, resisted the temptation to trip him up!

Just caught up on this thread after several weeks. Half marathon was great, loved going out to Trumpington and Grantchester, the crowds were fantastic. Now in my 60th year, I've slowed down a lot in the last 4 years, from just under 1:42 to wondering if I could still get under 2 hours this time - training had not been promising. Needn't have worried, race day adrenaline and the amazing crowds saw me round in 1:55:46. Some great pictures of people in U's shirts in Cambridge News, well done those folk!

Fantastic stuff Sneaky-good on yer, and may you do it for a few more years yet. Just got in from the Haywards Heath Park Run with my 14 year old daughter. It's a really crap course where you do 4.5 laps of a little park, with a horrible hill all the way up one side. She got round in 24 minutes and I held her water and trackie top! Really need to get back into this running lark.

The wife and I went down to watch the Marathon yesterday, cheering on her cousin who we got to see at mile 11 and 22. What a brilliant day out! So much fun shouting out people's names and giving them a boost - I have no voice this morning. My plan now is to run it in 2018.

Very best of luck to Belly and any other posters running London in the morning. Let us know how you get on. 46 mins faster than Gary Rowett despite giving him two years - I could still do with a final 10K if anybody knows where I can find one, but I'll take that! worththemost, the support on Sunday was incredible from start to finish. Good luck getting into the race in the future

Despite concerns about my IT band, I've got back into race-running lately as a devil-may-care response to inaction as a result of the initial injury six years ago. I haven't been able to do a large amount of training but have done two 5k races and a quarter marathon in Athens over the last six weeks. Encouragingly (for now) the tendon has held up well, and I was able to run 22.19 in the second 5k and 52.50 in the 11.1km. It has been very hot in Greece lately which means most of the fluids are thrown over my head but a good challenge.
It's terrifically freeing being able to run again here and there. Of course then pride and competition take over but that's not all bad. Have a 10k coming up in the city in May and a half marathon on an island in June.
Well done London Marathon runners.

Anybody doing, or previously done the Cambridge Boundary Run at the end of February?
Half or full marathon distance on varied half-road/half-trail surfaces, organised by the University running club. I've been told to add on about 10-20 mins to expected time due to road crossings and map-reading etc!

...and mud. Certainly not one for setting PRs. Could do with better signage/road markings/marshalls, but a friendly event for anyone (i.e. many non-university runners). In recent years it has been largely oversubscribed, so tends to be decent sized - I think there are over 700 already registered for this year. In the last few years, they've had to limit numbers - not sure if that is still the case. When I first ran it (in the late 1980s), there were perhaps 35-40 runners. I'd say roughly half do the half, half the full marathon, so you wouldn't feel out of place running either distance.
