I never cease to find it amusing that you righty types so often make the racist connection to your own views on immigration where no one else makes the connection. It's almost like you revel in it. Oh come off it. You can't have a conversation about immigration these days without someone popping up and screaming racist. lols is that so..

They are sick of being called racists because they are concerned about the effects of open and mass immigration I never cease to find it amusing that you righty types so often make the racist connection to your own views on immigration where no one else makes the connection. It's almost like you revel in it. We haven't made any connection but merely identified it as the constant LW mantra making up bullshit accusations all the time. As for your comment "No one else makes the connection", please give us strength. It was perfectly exampled by MartinL accusing someone of being homophobic because they said Owen Jones would enjoy being locked up. Now you are displaying the next LW tactic in denying it and saying it was 'us' that made the connection. That's the whole flaming point about what we are saying and why so many people are fed up with it. They daren't say anything because the LW will just step in their mouths and turn it into something else. The pattern is so blatantly obvious people are saying "enough!" and voting against it. The LW chuck out the branding cards, without any foundation, they then deny it when someone try's to defend themselves or disagrees with them. They then go quiet leaving the accusation out there without retracting it until another leftie will jump on the bandwagon to twist it all around and the cycle repeats. It is disingenuous, deceitful, manipulative and boring. You should watch the video Charlie posted it sums it up very well.

I've seen 3 or 4 opinion pieces in the guardian saying pretty much the exact same thing in a less shouty way. And loads of left leaning people posting that video and others saying very similar stuff.

And loads of left leaning people posting that video and others saying very similar stuff. In context of our msg bd debate I was referring to ML and MOC. But I would also imagine it to fly way over the heads of a lot of LWingers. However I'm delighted to learn that the LW are finally coming to their senses. Forgive me if I don't quite believe it as an 'awakening' but more of a desperate necessity. I find the guardian so cringeworthy I have to limit myself to one article a week pretty much like the BBC these days. The latest 'lego' manipulated LW propaganda story being a classic example of just how awful and biased they really are.

Yes. And I'm glad you find the left getting a bollocking as funny as the rest of us: Stayed out of this thread so far because, quite frankly, couldn't be arsed going over the same old ground as Brexit. However, hadnt't seen that video before and wow, just wow. Absolutely wonderful stuff. I genuinely hope for the benefit of everyone the 'left' listens to every word that was said. It's not as though they weren't warned. Maybe some good will come of this after all. We live in hope.

I'm a bit disappointed our usual 'trigglypuff' equivalents haven't expressed an opinion on this video yet.

I'm a regular viewer of this "angry pundit" character. He makes some good points in an engaging manner. Those that decry the Guardian from the right may not have noticed those that decry it from the left. Like this pundit character. I'm glad he makes sense to you.
Trigglypuff? Pet names? Kinky. Much as you like to pull the trigger and get a girl excited, this isn't doing it for me.

I'm a bit disappointed our usual 'trigglypuff' equivalents haven't expressed an opinion on this video yet. That video wasn't saying anything other than that the Left need to listen and debate. Just because the Left doesn't agree with the politics of blame and negativity does not mean they aren't listening. The Left has no problem listening and there is a momentum in this country offering a real alternative that is built on fairness and tolerance. I'm not especially talking about the labour party leadership but grass roots activism especially in labour's northern heartlands. Those struggling have been hit very hard by the austerity measures and the answer is in reversing that and further redistribution of wealth so there are decent incomes, jobs, working conditions, housing, childcare, healthcare and prosperity for all. The answer of the Right, is the politics of conflict where people are divided into the deserving and the undeserving. It simply isn't fair and is the politics of anger and despair. Putting power into the hands of mavericks like Trump is dangerously unpredictable. Marie Le Pen said that Trump's victory was 'an additional stone in the building of a new world' and 'has made possible what had previously been thought impossible'. She said something along the lines that Brexit was the start of a global revolution against the elites. Those that support the kind of politics espoused by Farage and Trump ought to think more and be careful what they wish for and what kind of world they want to live in. Some are already arguing that we have been here before in the 20th century.

Having equality and fairness are two different things. I'd argue that there is nothing fair about having a welfare system that allows people who have made poor life choices to be better off than those who work the lowest paying jobs. How is that fair in the slighest? Guess what, some people are more deserving than others.

It's not just the left that needs to sort their rubbish out. It's the centre and centre right too. (Clinton and lots of democrats are arguably to the right of moderate Tories)
Most people will find some sort of revolution against the elites as desirable but at the moment only elitist charlatans like Le Pen, Farage and Trump seem to be having any success by pretending to offer one.
The fact that a naccasist born to a billionaire and who's mates with the Clintons can pretend he was some sort of anti-elitist champion of the common man just by running his mouth and being un-PC shows how desperate people are for change. They'll swallow any sort of BS which pretends to offer a solution.
It's depressing as history shows us where this will take us if we don't change direction soon.

Guess what, some people are more deserving than others. No, you are wrong. Everyone is deserving. This is the fundamental difference between the politics of inclusivity and the politics of conflict and take. Your politics hurts people.

No, your politics are the politics of someone living in dreamland. If you're someone who has made shitty life choices then no, you're not as deserving as someone who has taken responsibility for themselves and works hard to provide for themselves.
