Can anybody shed any light on Ian Darler whereabouts and role at present? Unless I have missed something of course....
Is he back to full health now after his bad back? Apparently not been involved in the 'groundsman' part of his role for around 7 months now due to a persistent back problem? Presumably he has been helping with the security and crowd control aspects of his role but am led to believe he has been away from day-to-day groundsman duties - who is 2nd in command in this role?
Was supposed to start back next week doing a few days a week, but is looking unlikely allegedly as still in discomfort. Meeting planned for this week/next week to discuss further...
Anyone shed any light on this?

I heard a rumour that involved him and a compensation claim for an injury at work hence his 'disapearance'. This came from a contractor who did work for him at the club. Like i said dont know how true but was told this towards the end of last season

I always thought Ian was self employed and ran his own business. If so, he would have to had made a claim against his own liability insurance, don't think that he would do that. I heard a rumour that involved him and a compensation claim for an injury at work hence his 'disapearance'. This came from a contractor who did work for him at the club. I didn't think he'd done any of the actual physical work for several years due to health problems?

Like i said dont know how true but was told this towards the end of last season I wonder if we 'know' the same contractor then as I have also heard today from a contractor that the pitch rejuvenation isn't going to plan (something about how it should be in a better state of repair than it already is) I don't deal in garden/landscaping jargon!

BUT WHAT ABOUT HIS COMPENSATION CLAIM I think Ian has documented himself why he was off work back then due to his MH issues. Fair play to him for doing so as well.
