With support from Kick it Out and Pride in Football, a group for LGBT U's fans has been formed - to celebrate and help keep the Abbey the wonderfully tolerant, safe and welcoming environment it should be. There is a Facebook page which can be found at: Amber & Proud Facebook PageAnyone who identifies as LGBT or indeed any supporters who wish to show solidarity and support can pop along and 'like' the page. A twitter account will also follow once I have worked out how to set it up :-) There are now over 30 of these groups in the Football League and as the article below illustrates they are helping to change attitudes on the terraces and indeed where needed and appropriate challenge any language or behaviour that divides and excludes: Article on LGBT groups helping to change attitudesThere will be official launch at home game soon - if anyone is interested in getting more involved feel free to drop me a message. Cheers Will

My ten year old thought your excellent flag was celebrating the tv show Rainbow which I have been showing him clips of on youtube.

Ha - that's brilliant 🤣
I loved Rainbow and remember the theme tune used to be sung on the terraces many (many) years ago!
Was good to hear so many positive comments about how nice it was to see a LGBT flag on display in the ground - we have a slightly larger version on order so it will hopefully be seen more clearly from all parts of the ground and on the highlights.
Up the U's.

Yeah, I can remember singing it mid to late 90's. No idea why but it certainly was catchy in the days of actually having an atmosphere in the NRE.
As for Rainbow clips its hard to know which are edited/spoofs as the sexual innuendos are so bad.

Liked. Anything that makes football a more inclusive and inviting place for people is cool by me! (Or should that be cool bi me?!)

Blimey, we'll have a Cymru Supporters' Club next - two inaugural members?

Blimey, we'll have a Cymru Supporters' Club next - two inaugural members? Despite the surname my only interest in Dragons are of the Game of Thrones variety, sadly...! :-) Beautiful country though. Will

I make a point of wearing Stonewall issue rainbow football laces to the ground, in solidarity with a diverse and de-stigmatised culture.

I make a point of wearing Stonewall issue rainbow football laces to the ground, in solidarity with a diverse and de-stigmatised culture. Have you had anyone ask about or comment on them, Lurid? I have been wearing them to matches for a couple of years and in all that time have only ever had one person acknowledge them. As it was my brother's husband and his reaction was 'nice to see you are wearing the Stonewall laces' I didn't feel that I had made much headway in raising awareness! Good to know it was appreciated by someone who understands what they symbolise, though.

I bloody hate Stonewall, but I bloody love the progress they've nurtured in the country. Such is the duality of man.
Anyway, proud to have this group set up (in all senses of the word). Excellent stuff Will.
