Anybody out there between the age of 45 and 55(I reckon) remember Stars and Stripes baseball boots? They were white with the appropriate red and blue trim and along with Harrington jackets, Levi/Wrangler cords, etc were ‘de rigeur’ in the late 70s. Pretty sure they weren’t Converse(Chucks of course were equally well known) and don’t remember Vans then. Despite the great reach of the www I haven’t been able to find any reference to this footwear. I didn’t imagine them, did I........ Help me out please!

I remember them well. Not sure footwear was cool enough to hold a designer lable like converse et al in those days Nuts.

Blimey Nuts, you’ve got me there. I had some black and white baseball boots with a name label on the ankle, but no idea what the brand was. Vanguard?
On a a side note, the “Romsey yoof” were a bunch of girls! The Colville boys always took St Phillips to the cleaners at footie, and the Netherhall firm were far superior to the Coleridge woofers. Great days! Enjoy the cricket tonight.

Light blue with the Cambridge City coat of arms as the badge - give me a break!!

Ha Ha! Have to admit that the Blake lads were pretty handy! Maccy and I used to play for the Musketeers back in the day. I was right back and he was right wing so we used to have a good crack.

How did you end up right down South? Just curious. Long story Nuts. Worked abroad for a few years after university and then moved to London where I met the good lady. Her folks live in Sussex and we always liked it when we went down to visit. Eventually got fed up with London, we both got jobs in Brighton and moved down here. Enjoy the game today if you can.

If Converse All Stars imitations, then could be PF Flyers. If genuine trendy trainers from 1970s USA, then could be Asics Tigers.
