Holiday is booked for a week in the new forest. Any must do/see recommendations in the Hampshire/ Dorset area for a young family?

The New Forest is a lovely part of the world for cycling if your family is into that. Lots of bike hire places if you don’t have your own. You can get a ferry across to the Isle of Wight from Lymington IIRC-a nice little adventure for kids. Brockenhurst is a nice little town with places to eat and drink.

Any family day trip recommendations? Will be visiting with my kids (4&2)

Caenarfon castle is great , but depends on how long you are willing to travel in a day.

Beautiful, beautiful part of the world. Try and take in Ffestiniog if you can, the kids will love the train rides. Bodnant Gardens are also very nice and don't forget Conway(Conwy) and Llandudno too.

Ffestiniog is a good call. Seem to remember there was a slate mine around there which I loved as a kid...although was an older one.

Thank you for your suggestions, Llandudno and Conwy have popped up a few times along with Bodnant Garden so they seem nailed on.
The Isle of Anglesey was recommended if we didn't mind the journey.
