Anyone remember the scrap yard which was I think where Kathleen Elliot Way now is? Proper old-skool place where you could take your tools and cannibalise the bits you needed. Has many a part for my Mk1 Escort from there. Bloody hell, reminiscing, I’m turning into my dad. Those Mk1’s worth a fortune now. Light weight, rear wheel drive. Drifting and handbrake turns. Can’t imagine the misery of being 18 now with a fwd Corsa. Yep I remember it and a corner shop nearby to Yes, was Adrian Pledge the newsagent chain. A bit further up towards Cherry Hinton was the Orchard Stores. Both long gone.

Anyone been to the Museum of Cambridge? Went there in 1996, bloody good museum that. . Quite bizarrely I was in the cellar there a couple of weeks ago! It was after the museum had closed and I commented it was pretty spooky and you wouldn’t want to be there on a stormy night etc. The lady in charge informed me they have ghost hunters that pay £350 to stay overnight, not people that just want to be scared for a laugh, but the full-on believers. I couldn’t wait to get out of the place. That said, it’s a very good museum. Had a bit of a makeover recently and changed its name from the Cambridge Folk Museum to the Museum of Cambridge. Good luck to them. Beautiful old building too.
