As I lost both my mother & father through Cancer by the time I was 14 1/2, this is something that is very close to my heart.
For a few years now I have made cakes for various coffee mornings.
Every year I watch their website to see who is holding a coffee morning close to me, and go and offer to make cakes for them.
The people that held one last year do not seem to be doing one this year.
I was saying to a neighbour of mine, nobody local seems to be holding a coffee morning this year of which she said, there is a poster up round the corner.
I obviously went to have a look. Seeing that it was in walking distance I went and offered to make cakes for them.
I wish that I had read the poster properly first time around.
On reading it a second time , I noticed that it said the Tropic house( Tropic skincare products) will be open & 10% of all sales will go to Macmillan.
It is obvious that they are holding this coffee morning as a vehicle to sell their products which I think is wrong.
I wouldn't have offered to make cakes if I had read the poster properly to start with.
But as I have offered I will keep my promise
I have noticed that a lot of these coffee mornings are being held as a vehicle to sell their products
OK, a lot of 10%'s add up but I think the reason they are doing this is all wrong.
A Macmillan coffee morning should be for the benefit of Macmillan only.
