I think the idea was brought up, but was quashed pretty quickly? If they mounted a serious attempt then I'd imagine the outcry would be enormous like the ESL. Although saying that, the ease at which the EFL clubs bent over for a cash incentive for the Trophy is slightly worrying. If the PL were to offer a million a season to each club in L1 and L2 to include their teams, how many would be in the position to turn it down?

I think if this were to be even close to being put into action, there would/should be supporters demos, similar to those of the Prem League European Super League, Lower Leagues all sticking together, fans joining together (Except POSH of course) might be a powerful thing

Sad how quickly and easy some fans have been to change their mind or forget about their original stance on the introduction of B teams to this competition.
Nothing but respect for anyone who boycotts this farce.

Yip, the proposals were:
A new League Three to be introduced in 2016-17, combining the top half of the Conference and 10 Premier League B sides.
A beefed-up homegrown players' rule requiring 13 members of the 25-man squad to have been trained in England as youngsters by 2020-21.
A more strictly enforced work permit system that would prevent Premier League sides from having more than two non-EU players.
A new loan system that will allow Premier League clubs to loan up to eight players to a strategic partner below the Championship.
As well as a 30m cash pool to football league clubs.
I think it went as far as Football league clubs voting on it.
At the time Greg Dykes cited interest in the B-Teams from Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and...um Stoke City.
One difference from the ESL, I guess, is that clubs can't resign and effect the change by 'force', they'll need to bribe clubs or do it by stealth in order to achieve sufficient number of votes from the FL
Those of us most concerned by "conspiracy theories" - especially those "conspiracy theories" that have already been floated as an *actual* theory - consider the possibility of B-Teams in the Pizza cup as a stealthy act, or a way of softening FL teams up.
Maybe it's not manipulation from the Premier League (and Stoke), but for me I don't want to attend and take the chance of tacitly approving B-Teams in the FL.

Ah, that rings a bell now. I was wrong to suggest 'conspiracy theory' but I'm still pretty confident it won't happen, not in the near future.

Another 1000+ crowd expected tomorrow night for the Spurs game. This competition seems to be getting increasingly popular with U’s fans this season since we got promoted

Are we allowed to bring back kids like Bennett and Jobe from their loans for games like this? Asking for a friend.

Noticed Leon Davies was used on some of the promo photos for tomorrow, is he expected back or will he just carry on doing the golden gamble draw?

I believe Bonner said Davies had been back in training for a few weeks and that we'd probably see him at some point tomorrow.

Love the idea we play our 'kids', when PL talk about playing experienced 'men'. Deflates their whole idea. I've never gone to these games because they are a waste of my money and meaningless; at least since they stopped being a comp for Div 3 & 4. Last one I attended was V Blackpool at millennium stadium.

Does this mean that we will have to play more first teamers then? Really not good if so. I get the bit about getting minutes into the squad players etc but this makes little sense to me.
