Only if you don't qualify for major tournaments.. Andrew That jibe would have hurt once, now I genuinely could not care less. All major tournaments are farcical now. I care so little that England could win one and it wouldn't bother me!

We'll probably never find out if that's true.

I wonder how successful the boycott of this competition has been? Do we think it's working or not? Are the PL teams losing interest in pushing their B Team agenda on us? Will they increase their bribe money to ensure continued compliance?
I honestly don't know the answer to any of these questions. The 'feeling' I have is that an increased push will come from PL teams to include their B Teams in more matches, in whichever competitions they can gain entry to.
As we know money talks and as far as I can see most (all?) of the FL clubs involved in this competition (including us) always put a positive spin on these matches and say that the prize money makes it worthwhile.
Sorry for rambling a bit there but I wonder if our boycotting of the matches is too passive and could be spun by the PL as a tacit acceptance, i.e. look at this, as you can see, no one's really bothered by this so let's crack on and extend it.
Would it send a stronger message if we absolutely rammed the Abbey for games against the proper sides, so this season Colchester & Boro but absolutely no one attends the b team match. Maybe we could gather outside the ground when the b team play instead of paying to attend?
This might throw the discrepancy between playing proper clubs and B Team shite into sharper focus.
Discuss.

I certainly think the consecutive record low attendences we racked up a few seasons ago sent a message. They changed the groups to be more regional to try and improve attendances (hence us playing P*sh on a regular basis). I do think the long this goes on the less people stick to it and will start to drift back but the fact that they've not been able to find a sponsor this season shows that there isn't that much support for it.

I suspect the fact that (I think) our largest attendance for it last season was when we played Spurs U21s might also have been noted. Presumably 98% of that crowd comprised kids and 2CWs

The effects of a boycott are almost certainly less felt over time because we've picked up a lot of new fans since the promotion season, which is otherwise excellent but means they tend not to "get" the boycott for the competition. The same can be said for entire fanbases of clubs who weren't in League One or Two when the new format came in.
The big attendances for a Wembley final and the fact the marketers can cherry pick some early career appearances for people like Bukayo Saka etc means they'll always find ways to make the competition out to be a massive success.

Perhaps the commentators should boycott too so that the B team concept competition isn’t played out on Radio Cambs. Over to you.

Nah, Okedina will be RB if it's 4 at the back, with May in the hole and Janneh on the right. Otherwise Bennett & Janneh wing-backs, with Ahadme and Gordon up top.

No need to worry about progressing this season anymore. Maybe the players want to boycott as well!
