This message board continues to be largely left-leaning, quite out of step with the silent majority and the electorate Pretty good shout and even old Carnage has taken to quoting and replying to himself now. Thank f*ck we haven’t got Corbyn, McDonnell and Abbott in charge during this pandemic. Abbott would make the PHE look like statistical geniuses and highly unlikely there would have been no lockdown, furlough etc as they wouldn’t fit their agenda.

Not sure why the right like to pretend they're some oppressed minority despite winning every election. You won, get over it and face the consequences of the disastrous response. Keep believing your hypothetical fairy tales of what Labour 'might' have done if it makes you feel better for supporting this bunch of self serving charlatans. The idea that Labour (or anyone) would not have locked down or provided some sort of financial support for citizens is laughable. We have one of the worst records in terms of deaths and economic damage, if you're happy with that fair enough, keep laughing at Abbott for getting some numbers wrong (ignoring when Patel does the same or the Tory MPs who can't decide whether to wear a mask or not from one day to the next).

I think there is no comparing Diane Abbott to the Conservative ministers. Abbott is principled and humane, despite years of abuse, while we have these opportunistic, mendacious charlatans in charge, many supposedly representing areas which mean nothing to them and treating the public with the disdain they believe we deserve.

Its hard to sometimes find the perfect piece of nonsense, but well done for achieving it with that post.

Even after all the redaction of names and events etc, absolute incompetence of the British government is revealed in the Intelligence report. Not even bothered to investigate Russian spying and influence in UK affairs. Have to wonder what side the Conservative government is on!
Welcoming oligarchs with open arms building links that allowed them to money launder and buy influence in the highest echelons of power including political interests and donations on behalf of the Russian state. So tangled that Russian presence is the new normal and priority must now be given to addressing any hostile activity as it is uncovered.
The unwillingness of the GCHQ, secret service and Mi5 to engage in counter intelligence activity without government backing and the recommendation of changes to the Official Secrets Act to make it illegal to be foreign agent in the UK.
The report said the only two intelligence successes were the Skripal affair and the foiled chemical weapons hack and pointed out that the Russians learn from their errors becoming more difficult to protect from their hostile acts.
Essentially the report is saying we need effective government leadership and more powers for the secret services to fight the Russians.
The Russians keep taking a pop at us and the government continues to do sod all other than get increasingly chummy with oligarchs who are foreign agents working for the Kremlin. The report must have given the Russians a good laugh.
