After about 45 minutes of persuading, cajoling, sweet talking, shouting, bullying, begging and kicking, I finally got the fecking lawn mower started this afternoon. The joy and emotion was on a par with when Hughsie scored at Wembley. The lawn looks just like the Abbey on an August afternoon. Eat your heart out Ian Darler!

Guinea pigs are the way forward, mate. With Shaggy, Abbey and Amber in my back garden, I'll never mow again.

As mowers go, they won't be much use dead

Just recently moved into a rented house with a long back garden and more green out the front, first time in my adult life I've had a garden and I'm loving it, particularly with time in our hands unexpectedly. As a bonus, it's also got a sea view.

Give us a picture? Mower, lawn or sea - it doesn't matter....

Things must be getting desperate when there is a thread on lawn mowing.

I dunno, I’d imagine plenty of us are going a bit stir crazy. I guess we’ve washed and polished the cars, cut the grass and painted the shed. And those that are lucky enough to have a garden should consider themselves the fortunate ones too.
There’s already a corona virus thread for the serious side of things, so maybe we need one for the more lighthearted side. It would be good to hear how fellow fans are coping for sure. So what are you up to, how are you coping?
This particular starter might not be U’s-related but thought I’d kick off with this bit of nonsense which should at least make some of us smile in these dark times.
I particularly liked day 4:

Things must be getting desperate when there is a thread on lawn mowing. You had to be there Andy-the sheer euphoria of getting the lawn mower started after it had been sitting idle for 4 months is indescribable. Small things I know but I need the odd victory to get through these mad times.
