"Just seems geared up for him out and Gove/Sunak in and then look the Conservatives have allowed you to hug your nan again what nice guys"
Personally, I think Raab would be better than either of those two

Comes across as a "Yes man", just like Hancock. Shapps is a better bet than either of them.

Not a host of good options for the country. Folk like John Major and William Hague are people I may not have agreed with but they seemed comparatively decent when put next to the current crop of Tories. I have to say that, living in Ireland, I can see why some on the left have had sympathy with the Irish republican cause, if not the violent forms of protest; the Irish enemy is/was the same as ours - the entitled, wealthy ruling Conservative class who widen the gap between rich and poor, serving the desires of wealthy contacts over the needs of the population.

Shapps is damaged goods, it's amazing he is still even in politics given some of the stuff he has been involved in. If you are not familiar, google him. Genuine snake oil salesman.

Says a lot about a party when we can't even decide on a 'least worst' option.

My preference would be the bumbling buffoon Chris Grayling if he ever came back into favour. The Spectator said of him 'Only Grayling could lose a rigged election.' Sounds like just the man to lead the Conservative party for the next General Election.

So , it's O.K for the Tories to get this country into a bad state as long as it lets Labour in at the next election ?
P.s And as for Starmwer, when he went for his Covid injection, they must of inoculated him with a Grampophone needle by mistake as he keeps on & on & on .

Indian variant is now in 86 council areas, with large numbers in Bedford, Northamptonshire and Chelmsford. Several cases in Cambridge as well. Not good.

Yeah, vaccination seems to protect against it and the roll out has been pretty well handled so far to include all vulnerables and everyone down to 40, I think they're booking down to 36 now actually (it's been astonishingly well coordinated in fact). I don't *think* it's too much of a distraction from lockdown easing in the UK, but obviously in other areas of the world that haven't had widespread vaccinations or don't have the same quality of healthcare the spread of a more transmittable strain is cause for concern.

I'm afraid it's been another catalogue of mistakes by the government who took their eye off the ball, still basking in their own self reflected glory of the vaccine rollout.
They could and should have stopped all traffic from India much much earlier than they did, and even now, people are still coming in from India by using an intermediary airport to get around the hotel quarantine rules. That means they are required to quarantine at home instead, but that requires integrity on their behalf, because no one ever gets checked unless they get grassed up - which won't happen to Indians who live within their own community.
