Nice to see the BBC maintaining their accuracy for detail last night on the football programme "Late Kick Off" by telling viewers Cambridge had won the FA Vase. Makes you wonder about the accuracy of any of their news. That program is a load of bollocks, bearing in mind we had just won the F.A Trophy they hardly mention it, rather just go on and on about some league 2 sides and the Scum. When we get into the league I do hope that changes. Did you also see the Barnet manager was on it? When will DD get an interview I wonder

Day trippers...yeah except for the two morons who decided to spend the entire first half playing with their toys (sorry phones) watching cats farting or whatever it was that was so hilarious then deciding that just as Bird was about to lob was the ideal time to go for half time refreshments, still I saw the goal on TV yesterday so eh who cares. What about the lad asking his dad which one was Luke Chadwick...luckily Dad knew his stuff and pointed out Liam Hughes. Then there was the great chip debate of 2014...dad returning with 2 portions between 5, explaining that he would have needed to re-mortgage the house to have brought 5 portions and then spending the first 10 minutes of the second half dividing them out so that little Johnny and Percy couldn't get upset (Oh yes they could!!). Luckily the whole lot around me decided that the trophy ceremony was not worth the wait and all buggered off home. Personally speaking if I ever see any of these supporters again in the Abbey Stadium I will have to go elsewhere to seek peace, quiet and solitude....otherwise known as a season ticket at the Glassworld! Up the U's. Fezes off! A wholly justified & detailed act of malevolent radiation.

It would be good if someone who knows how could put the BBC Cambs commentary to the film footage.

While I thoroughly enjoyed my winning day out at Wembley, I was less than impressed with the FA's "investment" in their premier non league knockout competition Final. Rarely (if ever) have I gone to Wembley and seen the paying spectators totally disregarded as we were on Sunday. No pre-match or half time entertainment, no match action on the large screens despite the whole match being filmed for various highlights packages later, no large screen shots of the Trophy being presented - from my seat in Block 119 it was virtually impossible to make out what was happening up there. The press got in on the act and massed around the team when they came down with the Trophy, but none of the usual pomp and circumstance, fireworks etc when we lifted the Trophy.
I am sure this wasn't just a snub to the non league game, I expect the same will happen on FA Cup Final day. Oh hang on, perhaps I'm wrong!
I'm sure all the FA hierarchy enjoyed their day out, fine wining and dining no doubt, but they could have done more to make it a more special occasion for the supporters, who don't get there with their teams very often.

There was even more of that kind of guff at the JPT final, albeit that was five years ago.

Fair points Imp. I noticed that tickets for the England friendly were cheaper than ours so there's no excuse for them scrimping. Even more annoying when you consider the FA have taken a cut from every trophy game so they're sucking money out of the game at a level that can't really afford it and putting very little back in.
Hadn't really considered the lack of razzmatazz, but the fact they didn't have the big screens pissed me off, especially as they've had them on in previous years. It's the little novelties like that which make a trip to Wembley special.

Would be good to end our appearance in this competition with that win and never to be beaten again. I'm guessing we keep a replica and return the original? It would be fitting to get promoted and return the broken original with a little subbuteo player on top in black and amber stripes. I know you want to get rid of me but that's just mean! ;-)

A big screen showing the moment the trophy being presented would have added greatly to the atmosphere. I think we might have a made a fair bit of noise.

Lets retire this chain as its getting boring (and negative). The last point I would like to make, is to praise Gosport on a superb cup run. This is what the FA Trophy is all about. This will set them up for years to come. I really hope they stay up (starting tonight).
Looking forward to Salisbury. Day tripper (not been to Abbey in years) Chippenham, Wilts.

What was going on at the rear of section 118? Looked like stewards intervened to stop the roof from coming off?
Once again, the bemused tourists watching goings on outside the globe were a highlight of the day.
How many will we take to the playoff final?

Rarely (if ever) have I gone to Wembley and seen the paying spectators totally disregarded as we were on Sunday. It wasn't just that though. The lack of 'interest' by the FA extended to the amount of refreshment points open. The queues were horrendous because of the lack of facilities open. There was no need to have all of them open but a couple more would have been good. I have never seen the queues as long and slow as that at any England matches there. They must have known how many tickets had been sold before the day and should have reacted accordingly. It not as if Wembley would have lost any money by employing a few more people at the prices they charge. I started queuing as soon as I could get out at half time but gave up with about 20 people still in from of me and even then I missed the start of the second half, but not thankfully the goal. Quite a few people must have missed that goal. Anyway, I agree with the comment above, well done to Gosport for getting to the final against the odds, they certainly done well to knock out Nuneaton on route to the final.

IF....we make the play off final, I would guess 18-22,000

S0, it seems everyone (including myself)enjoyed a wonderful day out at Wembley. Can we now agree once and for all that the Trophy is NOT a tinpot, meaningless trophy (even DD did his wild celebrations) but a competition well worth winning. Sorry Jerry, but it was clearly NOT a terrible day for the club when we beat Luton either !!! Also, it was great to see all those "DAYTRIPPERS"

I keep my fingers crossed we will not be able to defend the Trophy in next years competition.
