S0, it seems everyone (including myself)enjoyed a wonderful day out at Wembley. Can we now agree once and for all that the Trophy is NOT a tinpot, meaningless trophy (even DD did his wild celebrations) but a competition well worth winning. Sorry Jerry, but it was clearly NOT a terrible day for the club when we beat Luton either !!! Also, it was great to see all those "DAYTRIPPERS" No sorry but it is still meh for me. Great day out with no pressure and it felt a bit like a preseason game. Goals were clapped enthusiastically but certainly no mental. Glad we won it yes, and it really did mean lots to the players, but bothered if we successfully defend it (hopefully we wont get the chance) not overly.

Maybe if we go another 45 years without winning a knockout competition, some people might realise how they failed to appreciate the significance of this triumph.
But I'm not bothered about convincing people of the value of Sunday's experience - it's your loss if you didn't take much from it.

Would promotion mean more yes. Would getting to the 4th/ 5th or quarters of the FA cup mean more then yes. Would winning against Boro mean more the yes. Great day out, good for the fan base and kids especially, really good for the players. Lets move on and win the things that will have us talking about these players like we talk about the 1990 team who's names literally fall of the tongue 24 years later.

Nobody is saying it means more than promotion! But in making that comparison it's an immediate and unnecessary devaluation of the achievement. Why not just regard it in its own right as the first cup silverware we've won in 45 years?
It's like winning a Conference play-off semi and then saying, 'Oh, I'd much rather win a League Two play-off semi'.

I was simply trying to contextualise my emotions of the day and the achievement which was in response to Coachman's remarks about everyone now signing up to the Trophy bandwagon love in. I am happy we have won it. People rightly are very proud. A small bit of history but it is ours.

I getchya.
For what it's worth, I do think this was one occasion where I could see that it probably meant more to the players than me. But I found that quite heartening.

We will never win the fa cup and i hope we will never compete in the fa vase so we can be well chuffed at winning a trophy with fa written on it! My partner and 6 year old son are now fans after their day trip. So a great result all round. +£250,000 approx extra money gross.

It would be good if someone who knows how could put the BBC Cambs commentary to the film fottage. I do know how, and if I find the time, might just do that. But my video editing software isn't great, and I'm fearful of a loss of quality, so if anyone else has the necessary, please go ahead (and let me know you're doing it so I don't waste my time)

Apparently there's a dvd being released of the trophy final. Wonder if it'll have anything else on it, like the highlights or goals of the games en route, interviews etc. Has potential to be good, but will probably just be the single camera for 90 minutes
