So if the profit is £1.3m, would we have been in profit (the surplus Jez has spoken of) without the Man United money?
Edit: answered in Matt's post above.
Edit 2: thank you Matt for the summary. Intrigued (and slightly fearful) of what plan b re. redevelopment might be.

Certainly some very healthy results, and it shows just how much the club has grown in recent times.
Lovely stuff.

'A third is being put towards correcting the historic cash flow deficit, namely the fact that there's no income during the summer.'
What does this mean? Surely no income in the summer is already budgeted for and doesn't need the Man U cash?
All sounds positive though except for South Cambs being arses.

I read that as, using money from the Man U game as opposed to going into debt and making the money back throughout the season.

Bloody hell, that's impressive reading. Thanks again for your fantastic roundup, Matt. 'A third is being put towards correcting the historic cash flow deficit, namely the fact that there's no income during the summer.' What does this mean? Surely no income in the summer is already budgeted for and doesn't need the Man U cash? All sounds positive though except for South Cambs being arses. Instead of sitting on £0 and watching the balance drop to -£100,000 over summer before going back up, we sit on £150,000, and watch it drop to £50,000 before going back up. It's a safety net and it's a very positive step for a football club that just the year before made a loss. *Figures pulled out of my ass.

Does projected turnover for June 15 to June 16 provide easy explanation of our playing budget for this season, given turnover is going to be 'only' around £300,000 more in real terms (ie no Man United money) than the year before?

I do find it surprising that the official board does not state who's who(staff @ the club)
Of course I might not be looking in the right place. *
* Yes, I was looking in the wrong place, but then only the football staff are listed ( nothing on Commercial Manager etc)

It really was the most positive Shareholders meeting I have attended since becoming a shareholder 11 years ago. my additional ramblings to those excellent accounts above of what was said at the meeting last night: 3 years ago we were making a loss of £450,000 a year This year we made a profit of £1.3 million which was largely the FA Cup money however we would have broke even without tha cup run. We haven't "Spunked" the money on players we have kept to our structure and kept some back towards the funding of the Habbin redevelopment. The last time we made anything like that sort of profit was when we sold Alan Biley which helped to fund the extension of the Main Stand. We have brought on board 2 local Business men with a wealth of business knowledge including a new Finance Director Steve Chamberlain. Jez talking about our youth development said that we have some talent coming through that are attracting interest from the "Big" Premier League teams and because of our set up one lad and his family chose for him to stay with Cambridge United when approached by one of the big teams. This is largely down to the fact that we are regularly playing against Man City, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea etc. It won't be too much longer before some home grown talent emerges from within the ranks. We are growing our youth development area footprint and are forging links with Astrazeneca through our community program and are forging new deals with "Large" companies ready for next season.
Also Dave Doggett spoke with me regarding Simon Dobbin and the Club have kept in regular contact with his wife and are continuing to look to support Simon and his family with the possibility of a music evening to raise more funds in the future.
Whatever we say about the Club we are moving forward both on and off the pitch.

Was it stated exactly how much we made from the FA Cup run last year?
I was under the impression it was around £2 million.
Any word form the club?

And any reference to stadium sponsorship, folks? Or is the ARM project a done deal? Or still out on a limb.
