I thought 1.3 million was the profit we made for the season, taking into account such things as ground improvements. As such we made more than that on our FA Cup run, but have already spent a proportion of it on the said ground improvements. It is. But it was stated that the income from the FA Cup came to a similar but slightly lesser amount.

The replay alone was reported in the media to have been worth around 1.7 million. I guess this figure most of been hugely inflated if the total for the entire cup run was less than 1.3 million. Was there any more detail on this point?

South Cambs are in love with their housing price bubble. I had to phone Scambs council today. 14 minutes before the phone was answered by a person! Then put on hold! I gave up after 18. They are the worst of a bad lot.

If the Councils involved won't let us build a stadium on a shitty corner of a Motorway roundabout, then i'm inclined to agree a new stadium will never happen. This has been going on for around 20 years now. Even Britain's oldest town let them build on the side of a Major A road. Best stay where we are in our spiritual home, and next time we have a glory match, make sure no councillors jump on the bandwagon.

Only because they turned down Grosvenor's initial plans!

Was anything mentioned about the rent we are paying on the Abbey and whether this is likely to change?

I couldn't get to the AGM, but based on the figures provided by Ramsey Matt that is one hell of a set of results.
These things need eternal vigilance as they can deteriorate quickly if you take your eye of the ball, but hats (fezes?) off to Dave Doggett, Jez and the rest of the Board, not forgetting Rob Smith who did so much to improve the finance side at the club in his stint as FD.
I'd have been really proud to present those numbers as FD...

That "shitty corner of a motorway roundabout" is a beautiful vista on precious green belt land. No wait, it really is just a boring shitty field next to an ugly motorway. I despair. I know we're now looking to redevelop the Abbey but how long does all this council nonsense really take? It just seems to be a never ending cycle of red tape, meetings, consultations, more meetings, paperwork, some more meetings... I wish they'd stop fannying around and just get on with it.

Or democracy as some like to call it. It is annoying, but essentially the planning inspector tends to agree with developments (if it were to get that far), so it's the local government getting in the way of this which is where the democratic process comes in. We also have 2 different councils with 2 different political objectives. Labour seem to agree with the development, conservatives not. I would also presume that Grovenor are trying to circumvent their s106 duties by providing us with an upgraded stadium. This will be a sticking point as CUFC are a private business (all be it for the community) while the council's have duties to perform for the community (e.g. affordable housing, public artwork etc). All cufc fans living around Cambridge really need to be lobbying their councillors (especially the blue Rosette's). They need to know they will lose your vote if they don't agree (if you feel that strongly that is).

Was there any more detail on this point? what is being ignored about the cup run is the increased league crowds it generated. Some of the G12 money would've come it but not all of it. The two games that people had to buy tickets for to get a manure ticket cetainly wouldn't have attracted such big crowds. So to claim we'd have broken even without the Man U is a bit naive. But the figures ARE good and the fact that many of the glory hunters have stayed around can only be positive. Still waiting for shiny new toilets though

They also provide a much increased height level of splashback.
At least your ankles remain dry these days, so it's a start I suppose.
