I think more interesting to know would be what age people were when they first joined, rather than the age they are now.
I suspect this forum definitely skews 35+ but that's probably more an artefact and interaction of a) the subject matter (club support is generally a long-term or lifelong thing) b) the length of time this particular forum has been in existence c) this particular format of dedicated messageboard/forum being very popular during a particular period of the internet but one that has since been superseded by social networking "spaces".
I joined this forum (or rather, it's predecessor) as a teenager, but if I were that age again now and wanting to talk about Cambridge, chances are that would be on social media (at least to start with).
I'd also be interested to see whether Andrew's suggestion that the Facebook group is where the "younger" fans go – that would be at odds with the more general Facebook demographics these days. But then closed communities, especially topic-specific ones, are always a different case to "open" ones and generally have different social models and norms.

95 % left wing 90 % clique if only it was 95% left wing. Wouldn't that be something for our fans to be proud of. but if by that you mean so many are inclusive and respectful then that is a good thing isn't it. Disagree that it's that cliquey. Maybe a little bit but posters tend to be respected and indulged with a variety of responses whatever they post.

Ooh could someone with more spare time than me do a poll so we could all confirm our own biases?

Can agree with most of that, except the middle class bit. Where does that come from? Because that's what the majority of people are. I'm sure there are a few from the underclasses knocking about here, but not many.

Does the op mean culturally or socio-economically middle class? I personally think that the use of the terms working and middle class have become useless to actually describe any person in Britain but more dangerously are used in a pejorative sense which enables inequality of aspiration.

white and middle class, like most of our supporters.
that ain’t even a problem because it reflects the city.
excuse my ignorance but it’s probably unlikely we’ll ever have a population group big enough for a Punjabi Wolves / Rams type group but likewise I’m totally confident if we did they would be welcomed.
the Amber & Proud group, while not massively noticeable, is always there and welcoming & likewise there are loads of women I know who support the club.

Yeah, that makes sense. Mid to late twenties for me I would think.

I get the feeling most on here live outside of the City...and outside Cambridgeshire too. I wonder who lives closest and furthest from the ground? Andrew I am just over 5,000 miles away but spent more time than I care to think about standing in the Habbin!

The marxist definition of working class is simple enough and still holds true to this day. If you are employed i.e. sell your labour for wages, and do not own the means of production, then you are working class. That is what unites workers and makes most working people working class and all this aspiring to be 'middle class' rubbish is just designed to divide the working class and weaken them in the face of the real enemy. At the level we support at, football is a working class sport and I hope always will be. The middle classes are welcome or they can stick with Rugby Union.

Rightly or wrongly, I do associate how you speak with your class label. Roipe Cambridge accents are still very prevalent at The Abbey. Would disagree with the assertion from AM92 that "most" of our fans are middle class.

How is a thread about the makeup of a football team message board not about football? It's definitely not 'social' so I guess the thread has been moved to avoid more people reading it since hardly anyone finds their way to the social board. Maybe the mods figure fewer people will post if they find out it's only grumpy middle-aged blokes that are reading. Odd.
