How is a thread about the makeup of a football team message board not about football? It's definitely not 'social' so I guess the thread has been moved to avoid more people reading it since hardly anyone finds their way to the social board. Maybe the mods figure fewer people will post if they find out it's only grumpy middle-aged blokes that are reading. Odd. Kentish I think you're slightly overthinking it, don't think there's a great conspiracy here... However I did see Russ getting out of his new Lamborghini so maybe it is in his interest to protect this nest egg from the WOKE INVASION

Well of course you are right, it's just a bit frustrating to see a thread on a subject that hasn't been discussed before, and has already generated a fair bit of interest, get dumped and buried into social.
Particularly when I started it, which I don't often do...
I am sure that Russ makes multiple £m's from this board (as long as 0 counts as a multiple...)

I think it's a fair call that this is more social chat than football chat!

I don’t think it’s hard to fathom why this was moved to social.
No ulterior motives at play.
For what it’s worth, I’m finding it an interesting read.
The earlier point about the demographics of this forum being a throwback to the time of its inception is a valid one, I think. Many of us who post regularly have been here from the start.
Edit: Late-30s white male here. Left-leaning but not politically active.

Russ, the problem is that hardly anyone reads the social board, so if you want to kill a discussion, moving it to social is a good way of doing it.
Whether it should be under 'football' rather than 'social' is if course entirely down to semantics so there is no correct answer.
I am not sure what motivates you in running the message board, but I have always felt that if you are going to do something, then do it well or don't bother. I agree there is an ever decreasing pool of regulars that continue to post, but that is not a good thing and ultimately means the board will wither and die. That would be a real shame although possibly inevitable. I was hoping the thread might lead to suggestions on how to reinvigorate the board, and get some new (younger, female etc) members to join.

Thanks for the advice (?). I probably won't take it on board but it's nice to have the option!
