Why are people who raise legitimate concerns accused of overreacting? We got promoted on May the 8th, and were presumably planning for two scenarios - promotion and otherwise - since February time. To be going into a season three months after promotion with a squad worse than the one we went up with is poor. Probably because of comments like this

Probably because of comments like this Explain. I think if you need an explanation then you really don’t get it.

What if we have to wait for Okedina or Cundy? Would you rather wait knowing they would instantly gel or take a risk on a rather more unknown second choice? Bonner got us promoted on a shoestring budget and he will try to do the same to keep us up. People are so worried about the back up center back, just relax. The window is open and we will get it done when the time is right. I just hope we send Dallas or Knibbs out on loan and get a better option up front. The forward line worries me more than a back up CB right now. However before a kick in the league has been had people are overreacting. Dallas and Knibbs are probably 3rd and 4th choice strikers and we’ll probably play one up front. Perhaps you need to relax and not be so negative! Third and fourth choice but not good enough in league two let alone league one. At least with our center backs Jones is looking good with Taylor and the window is open and the budget is there for another to come in. I’m relaxed about it all though. I’m not asking where the CB is after we sign a keeper or ask the keeper on twitter if he can play center half. There has been an overreaction overall on here and other social platforms.

Bet you're relishing a season of more defeats considering you only got to post on here a few times (other than your Covid hot takes) last campaign. Hmmmmmm, interesting correlation.

Knibbs looked useful season before last and Dallas needs a chance. This time last year we had a bang average (at best striker who had not got into double figs in L2 and another striker who had mainly played non-league, with a season IIRC at struggling Macc who again, hardly set the world alight!

Hmm, I think 'worse' is harsh. We're a player or two short but on the understanding those players will join my quick take is that I think the goalkeeping positions look about the same, defence perhaps slightly better through the middle but slightly weaker on the right. Midfield looks stronger all over, attack looks weaker but with undoubted potential.
Overall I think at worst we'll be about as good as the squad that came up...maybe that's not ideal heading into a higher league but Bonner is content so despite one or two areas of concern I am too.

So much negativity. I'm optimistic, guess our views reflect our personalities? I'm looking forward to the season and I don't think we'll be down the bottom. Famous last words maybe, but the nucleus of the squad is there from last season and there's some useful additions. We'll see!

Picture of young Will at Wimbledon popped up on my twitter feed.
Thought it was cute so posted it. Bless his little cotton gloves.
Hope he signs. I'd forgotten he was an England U19.
