Personally, I think that level of incompetence should be applauded. There aren't enough people in the hospitality sector who devote their life to comedy any more.

I'm glad to report that the wait at the Burger bar behind the North end of the main stand at half time was much improved this week. Only took 20 minutes to get served instead of 25 last week. Keep up the good work !

2000 cans of Foster's is the most unforgivable part.

2000 cans of Foster's is the most unforgivable part. I went to watch montpellier play monte carlo on boxing day many years ago. The catering was baguettes with ham and cheese, and ice cold cans of krone bourg. Incredibly cheap too. Fosters brewed in England in a can cannot be acceptable at any temperature! Joking aside, the kit problem must have been a sickener.

Whenever Barnet come up, I'm always reminded of the friendly in which they repeatedly pulled their own shirts to con the ref. There was at least one brilliant photograph capturing it. As we all know that you must dislike all clubs that aren't your own, this was my retroactive formative reason for disliking them.

Comedy show in the Dublin bar, 3 lads who had not a clue how to work the tills, or pour a pint. Long Q's with v few in there. Lots of fed up customers. What a fiasco.

I would guess the caterers are using agency staff for our games and probably most are students/youngsters without much prior experience. I supply to the Hospitality industry and most places need experienced staff since lockdown so I would guess match days at the Abbey are going to be tricky.

Yes, all different staff from the Oxford game, I would say 100% completely inexperienced agency workers, 3 of them trying to work the tills after each sale. And to think the club had some fantastic matchday staff, who knew the job inside out.

Judging by his performance on Masterchef tonight, I can only assume Dion is in charge of the catering at the Abbey!

Not being funny but the majority of the non-league clubs we visited regularly get it right ; it’s massively poor we are in our highest league position for 20 years but the matchday experience at the ground is pretty bad.
There’s a dispute with the supporters bar, the catering situation isn’t great either, we haven’t got a mic that works on the pitch, the scoreboard has had issues too.
None of this stuff would actually (sic) affect me if I went and I would much rather have us win 3-0 and the rest be crap than the other way round, but it’s an area we could take so much money from and generate so much good will that it’s just sad we don’t.
But we are new to this league - Burton, Accrington etc have had a few years on us. The club are good at listening. So trust them.

Daniel you’ll know far more about this than me and I haven’t been to the Abbey for a few years but why has that changed? Money, contracts, franchises? No one being arsed …but yep trying to get staff in hospitality isn’t easy ….to a certain extent has always been challenging but obviously the pandemic has been another nail in the coffin. TG we had Brexit which has worked out really well …🙄🙄

I’d probably not even have given the catering a second thought if it wasn’t for the comments on here. I turned up to the Habbin at 2.45 on Saturday and was served immediately. Happily had a pint pre-game by the tea bar, then queued for 5 minutes max for chips at half time. Were they great? Not particularly but chips are chips. The club could improve things I’m sure but it’s really not nearly as bad as some are making out.
