I got the impression it was investment in buildings rather than any pitch work. Didnβt it say it would be built offsite then installed in the summer?

Our relationship with Clare college is to be admired like our league position we are punching well above our weight to obtain a reasonable long term lease with a Cambridge college is no mean achievement Are you a College bedder? Either way, stay 'umble.

There goes the myth about our wonderful training facilities at clare college, and the nonsense about how it could possibly influence player signings positively. IF the ceo is to be believed, its been exactly the opposite. Good news though to see this approved.

You mean we have been able to sign good players in spite of the current low quality of the facilities?
I'm slightly shocked they're pulling down the house, or have I misunderstood?

Very interesting and good news! Images of the plans can be seen at: democracy.cambridge.gov.uk/mgConvert2PDF.aspx?ID=61714&ISATTstarting from page 27. To answer Dylan's question it seems the old pavilion stays. I suppose its still used by Clare? No indoor training facility though which is a little disappointing.

Looks like it'll be a very good facility. The only small concern is that it's not our land

Very surprised that the council have approved that, as it concerns United!!! That'll be a first then...

Excellent news that this has been approved. I had a quick look at the plans and the new facility is vastly better than what is there at present - seems a really sensible thing for the club to be doing here.

Welcome back Father, you've been away too long! That post is from October 2022, Squire! The good Father was last online in early December. Rumour has it that he has defected to Stevenage.

So it was, must have missed the date. He is a sad loss to our community, his erudite expressions brought much colour and perspective to the conversations.

Β£1,000,000 of new investment, presumably to help fund the training ground?

This investment being, of course the main reason why we are struggling in the league.
Is it not obvious that not doing this whilst simultaneously dropping the entire first team in lieu of the entire under-18 squad, is the answer to our recent woes?
I would also add the respectful gambit 'Bonner out' - in capital letters children please - to these well thought out, cast-iron statements. You know, the same slack-jawed cod that was served up to equally deserving individuals such as Dunne, Ling, Thompson, Rolls etc. That's what Mark grew up on the terraces dreaming of - to be pigeon-holed alongside those luminary Abbey heroes.
I am referring to the social media rhetoric, which frankly these days is irking me more than us not picking up decent results. How dare we invest in our future?
Jerry hasn't even hurt his leg lately. Can this season plummet any lower?
