Blimey, that's quite a leap you have made there! While he may come in as a 'Player-Coach', he will be working towards his coaching qualifications, which he will need to apply for any managerial role. He isn't a ready to go, off the shelf replacement and may never be. The qualifications that Andrew listed were admirable, but just the start of his journey. I very much doubt Bonner sees him as a 'Stalking Horse' waiting for the opportunity to take over.

Make of that what you will. I would of expected there to be an announcement by now.

That's not the way we do business, we wait until the ink is dried on the contract before making any form of announcement. What Bonner has said already is as much as you will hear from us I expect until the deal is done. There are a few hurdles to cross that could scupper the deal, in which case Mousinho has hung Morro out to dry to some respects, which is very unprofessional (perhaps excusable to some given his lack of experience in dealing with transfers?)

The fact that Corr and Waddock have previous managerial experience doesn’t seem to have been a problem. I think people are reading way too much into this player-coach thing.

Could this signing be our most exciting of the transfer window, whilst also being a complete anti-climax given the rumours and Mousinho's comments?

Fingers crossed nothing does scupper the deal, sentiments aside it is still a great signing and one that will bolster our back line (and hopefully bring back some of that lost confidence too).

Fair enough! Although the word 'invent' seems to imply I'm deliberately stirring instead of just thinking out loud. That is a little unfair.

Yeah, no, your posts are generally on a more optimistic bent so I didn't that impression.

There has been a bit invention and revisionism to criticise Bonner though so I guess that's where any frustration comes from.

Plenty to be critical about at the moment without making stuff up 🤷🏻‍♂️

Because he’s a Morrison I wondered whether a headline of “Return of the Mack” would work.
Then I googled what a Mack was in relation to the song and now it is categorically a big NO.
